Relatively small by other state's standards, this museum has it all. Well laid-out, an excellent First Peoples' Gallery, and - at the moment - a superb exhibition downstairs on the 60s. Disappointed in the ticket staff upstairs - the person I encountered was quite rude and dismissive [I was apparently in the wrong queue] and wrongly ticketed me which meant I had to come back and get the correct tickets. However, she couldn't spoil my enjoyment of the entire experience downstairs which is highly recommended.

What a fantastic place! Interesting exhibits for all ages, could have spent even longer here. Particularly loved the geology and history of the earth sections. The 3D film on the origins of the earth was riveting. The Rebel and Revolution special exhibition is totally fascinating. It covers the events of the late 60s and how pop culture and politics have been influenced by that era. Well worth the entry fee.

The museum provided lots of information about the past Melbourne and the culture. The other exhibits are also informative especially the mind and body. There's an outdoor exhibit as well with birds flying around.
