Spent the weekend in Hobart. This is a two bedroom apartment (sleeps 5) with full amenities and a balcony with water views. Generous rooms, great living space. Walking distance to Sandy Bay. We will be back.

Stayed with my husband and two sons. Plenty of room and they had activities on hand to enjoy. Close to beach and short drive from centre of town. Boys had separate large room from ours (also large) with a generous lounge/ dining and kitchenette. Much nicer than being squashed in one room! Also had access to a private deck and courtyard. An older style building but clean, water is hot and bed is comfortable! Would recommend for families and anyone needing 2 rooms. Ted is lovely and more than helpful. A small market/shop across the road and shopping centres 6min drive for everything else. It does accommodate the usual bath soap/ wash/ shampoo/conditioner etc including real milk for coffee with a coffee machine and all kitchen essentials. A quick look around and you will find anything else basic you may need. Also off street parking. Will definitely stay here again.

Husband, one year old and I had a wonderful two night stay in this house. It is only a five minute drive from the city centre. The property itself backs on to a beach through a laneway. Across the street you have a specialty supermarket. The house is very comfortable, undercover parking is available at the back. The garden unit is beautiful, has a faux fireplace, fully functioning kitchen and laundry (including dryer), 2 very spacious bedrooms and a
Lot of old world charms.

The name attracted me first, and I would say it's a fair summary. The house, albeit on Sandy Bay Road is just a pebble's throw from the beach on the Derwent River estuary. This position on the river, the 'European' cry of the gulls (possibly Herring Gulls, not Australian Silver gull) combined with the old house (1840s) with its thick stone walls, window seats, little enclosed garden immediately transported me back to Northern French coast or the Channel Isles.

We had the garden apartment and the rooms were sunny in the morning which combined with the paint made the whole place cheery. It all felt immediately very homely too, unlike a lot of BnBs or hotels where you feel scared to touch anything.

The kitchen was perfect for our needs and, like the whole place, clean when we moved in. Clean beds, bathroom, fresh linen always a nice thing to come into with a BnB.

Ted was very obliging and provided anything we needed.

One thing we found was the internet was a wee bit slow (We have found the internet in Australia in general to be slower than we are used to) but if you are on holiday, the need for internet should be way down on the list anyway. It was fine for what we needed.

Would definitely come back here.

Downstairs apartment has no views but great size kitchen and bathroom with a walk in shower. Upstairs apartment has beautiful feel with lovely furniture, small kitchen and bathroom with shower over the bath. If you are a light sleeper get the upstairs apartment room overlooking the bay as you do have some road noise in roadside room. Great communication with owners, easy process getting in.
