Seriously faultless. Maylands is recently opened so is still very pristine and fresh. Thoughtful touches and a lovely comfortable king-sized bed. NO traffic noise, WIFI works well and rooms are light and airy with a pleasing outlook. Parking is free and Maylands is located to the North Hobart restaurant strip. A lovely cooked breakfast is included in the tariff, served by friendly staff. Puts MaQ1 to shame.

Room tip: Not a bad room in the place!

What a start to our Tasmanian adventure ! This is one of the nicest hotels we ever stayed in - just the right size - in an historic building (a previous Salvation Army house).
The room we had booked was huge - with everything in you can imagine - the highlight was the bathroom - with a glas wfront which frosted by a press of a button - seen this in executive board rooms - but definitely not in a hotel The bed was extremely comfortable as well.
Staff was extremely friendly - both when we arrived to be checked in and when we had dinner and breakfast.
We decided to have dinner there - and it was the right decision ! Thus was for sure Michelin star niveau - all 3 courses we had were soooo delicious - it was a shame to finish them
Breakfast the following morning was on the same level - extremely good coffee - and a very innovative menu - I had egg benedict - delicious!
And to add - all for a price (both for the accommodation and the dinner) where we thought this can’t be right ... (shouldn’t have said that ). We will definitely recommend this place to our friends !!

A relaxing, sophisticated atmosphere. The attention to detail in this beautiful historic building gives a sense of stepping back in time, and yet there is a perfect blend of technology that is a wonderful surprise. The staff are genuine, friendly with a wealth of knowlege about the history of the building and places of interest in Tasmania. The service is firstclass - nothing is too much trouble and every evening a lovely treat is delivered to your room. The chef is a true craftsman - with a passion for local ingredients, including those he grows in Maylands gardens. You won"t be disappointed!

Room tip: Views of the gardens or Mt. Nelson. A gorgeous view from the tower particularly at night.

The attention to detail, to design and to its execution is absolutely outstanding.

Friendly welcome, massive gorgeous room, shower, towels, bed, lounge, etc etc. It does everything right. Not just ‘right’ - perfectly.

From the taps to the artwork to the crockery to the deep like carpets, I LOVE this place.

The breakfast is delicious - obviously.

A wonderful place to stay. The only way it could be improved would be to let us stay a little longer to enjoy it (eg 11am or 12pm checkout). Though we didn’t ask and I’m sure they would have been accommodating if we had.

Keep up the excellent work. You’re standard bearers!!

Maylands Lodge was amazing. I’ve travelled extensively over the years and it’s not an exaggeration to say that this was one of the best value boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The attention to detail lavished on the property was evident from the tasteful way the owners have refurbished the existing building, the landscaped gardens, the fresh produce that found its way into the delicious hot breakfasts prepared on site as well as the dinners they also offer in the dining room.

We stayed in the Pearce room which was advertised as a two bedroom suite but in reality was a studio room with a small room partitioned off with two single beds. A minor quibble which could easily be updated or made clearer. The bathroom was also amazing with a free standing bath and shower area. Was suitable for a group of 4 for five days. Also really liked the small additional touches like a daily tea service and Netflix available on the tv.
