Grab a picnic, a ball and a group of friends and kids. What a great wee location with playgrounds and plenty of space to run around. So close to Brisbane. Would recommend this wee place.
We stopped at the only shop to grab an overpriced ice cream. Our boys had some $ to spend and got a few sugary treats. On getting into the car all the items were past their expiry date. So be careful!
Otherwise the beach and reserve were lovely!

I enjoy spending an afternoon at Nudgee beach especially if I leave work a bit early and time a visit with low tide. If you're expecting a beach with sand and waves, this is NOT the beach for you. The afternoon sea breezes are a refreshing break from the oppressive humidity in suburbia. The highlight of this beach for me is at low tide, when you can walk the mudflats and shallows for a few hours and find all manner of interesting sights. My 15 month old loves to run wild in the shallows and I find its a great way for kids to expend some energy whilst enjoying the simple things in life. Be sure to pack a towel, change of clothes for the kids who will inevitably end up muddy, and insect repellent to make the most of your visit. Best experienced without shoes but keep an eye out for the odd stingray when walking through the shallows.

Nudgee beach is a little like going to a day spa; the ripples in the sand provide a therapeutic foot massage and the warm water melts your worries away. For those familiar with hot water beach in NZ, the temperature is similar with the added bonus of not needing to dig for it.

While at the beach you can enjoy watching planes taking off, horses strolling along the beach and dogs frolicking in the water. Most dogs are off leash despite the signage however all of the dogs we saw were well behaved and with plenty of room it is easy to have your own space.

This place isn't your usual beach as you wont get the crashing waves, surfers, sun baking in bikinis or swimmers.
But you will get Long relaxing walks at low tide with or without your fur baby.
The beach has grassed areas and BBQ's for those special occasions or just to take the kids somewhere different to play on the swings or in the sand.
