Owner description: One of the Waterfront's coolest attractions is the Wave Lagoon: a palm-fringed swimming pool that turns into a tube-riding, boogie-boarding bucket of fun when the waves roll in every 20 minutes. The fully patrolled Wave Lagoon is two metres at its deepest point and slopes to a shallow area of still water, perfect for families. Bring your book: there are plenty of banana lounges, beach umbrellas and shady patches of lawn. Aqua Zumba classes every Sunday from 9am are a HUGE hit with tourists and locals alike.

Close to the ocean but free of sharks and crocs. The water is a good temperature especially for southerners. Entry fees are reasonable, especially $5 for seniors. Much larger and better than your average swimming pool.

Very good value, stay as long as you want. Floating rings and boogie board hire included in the price. The waves came in unpredictable patterns for 20 minutes with a break of 10 minutes. If you are riding the waves on a boogie board be careful of your knees on the artificial beach as it is concrete not sand. I was there late afternoon on a weekday in May and there was only about 10 ppl in the water. Great fun

We’ve visited a similar pool in Hawaii and this one is definitely much better. The waves are generated in an irregular pattern which makes the “surf” more interesting, slightly unpredictable and enjoyable - yet very safe.
We visited mid-week during a holiday stay and the place was busy but not crowded. We spent quite a bit of time in the water because the intervals between calm waters and wave generation was not long. Riding the waves was simply irresistable. The availability of inflatable rings and boogie boards is also really good.

The availability of lockers and clean bathrooms is also very good. The location of this pool at the Darwin waterfront makes it a very convenient spot for getting food afterwards.

The wave pool is one of the favorites with locals, it's like a holiday without having to pay for the expensive flight out of state. Lots of food, great ice cream and you can visit here pretty much all year round and if you forget your swimmers there are surf shops just a few meters away.
