Mt Ainslie is a great viewpoint to see out over Canberra. We went for the afternoon, but the morning views would be just as beautiful.
W have recently visited Canberra and always take our visitors to the Lookout. It gives you a wonderful view of not only the city but for klm away. If you have the time visit it in the night, amazing.
If you would like to take some scenic photo's then this place will fit the bill, dont attempt to try and walk up to far.
Mt Ainslie lookout is included on many standard tours of Canberra, and it is worth it for the great view of the entire surrounding area.
Easy to locate, short drive up hill, parking on side of road. You are situated above the war memorial so you look out toward Anzac Parade, lake and parliament buildings. Went during the day but sure it would be amazing at night, too.
