This restaurant is absolutely lovely, it’s right on the water, and the staff was incredibly attentive. We had been on a 3-hour boat tour of Montenegro (that we all loved!), and our boat captain called ahead and made our reservation. We had a large group of 18 (ages 10-76), so the waiter suggested they bring us several small plates. As the different courses came out, our waiter, Zoran, explained each dish. It was some of the best food we’d EVER had (many in our group completely agreed ... even the teen-agers!). The dishes were very unique to the area, and the food was beautifully plated. All of the kids in our group except the 10-year old tried the food, and in general, they all liked it even though it was food for a sophisticated palette. The final bill was a bit of a stinger. It wasn’t cheap by any means (about €100 per person). But, it was truly a memorable experience that our family will never forget.

Here’s what we had. There are pictures that correspond to each dish.
1. Fish pate — great with the house bread
2. Finger mussels
3. Tuna tartar, white bean purée, beet powder, asparagus
4. Scallop with cuttle fish ink covered with yogurt emulsion, chives, a thin slice of a truffle, red beet citrus on bed creamed potatoes — Our whole group raved about this dish. The scallop was so tender and delicate, it was almost like butter.
5. Sea urchin shell filled monk fish and Hollandaise sauce, topped with the creamed sea urchin — This was the most unique dish.
6. Sea bass (caught that morning), steamed broccoli, sweet pototo purée, morel mushroom
7. Assortment of desserts and fruit with a small glass of limoncello and vodka

A few other points —
There is a hotel too, but we didn’t stay in the hotel. So I can’t comment on that.

I wanted a dry, oaky Chardonnay typical of Napa/Sonoma Valley in the U.S. The waiter recommended a wine from the region, and we loved it. See the picture of the label.

The chef, Savo, came out to meet us because we enjoyed the food so much.

We were running short on time so the restaurant staff took us all back to the cruise terminal in the hotel golf cart and the chef’s car so we wouldn’t miss our boarding time.

Hotel tucked away in Dobrota, in the Kotor Bay. Directly on the beach. Peace, privacy, hospitality. And I have to mention great cakes which my daughter loved.
Recommendation for room type: Executive room.

A fabulous small hotel in the serene Kotor Bay. We moved here having not been happy with our other hotel which was still being built on arrival. Fabulously looked after by the team there who took great care of us and made our stay great. A couple of cool bikes onsite to explore the local surroundings and the bay on the edge of the restaurant for a dip. Great hotel restaurant and lovely accommodation. Thanks guys, will be back.

All ten rooms have themes. We had the Japanese room. Extremely well equipped and comfortable, albeit a little dark..Service in all aspects of the hotel was impeccable. Small heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi and Spa. Housekeeping was brilliant, with towels changed twice daily and our bed changed every day. The fine dining restaurant was of a high standard and in a fantastic position overlooking Kotor Bay. Magical!

Room tip: Worth paying extra to book one of the two rooms with a balcony and look over the Bay with spectacular views
