Overnight stop to see local family. Lovely friendly reception and service throughout our short stay. Met up with family for an evening meal in the restaurant, need to book a table if you want to eat in the small restaurant, but they also serve food in the adjacent bar area. An excellent meal with beautifully prepared locally sourced food at sensible prices. Wonderful 'full English' breakfast individually prepared to order, no menu just specify what you want! Bedroom nicely decorated but a little small perhaps, not a problem for one night. Stairs are narrow and a bit steep, can be difficult with big suitcases. Overall very happy and will be delighted to stay again next time we are in the area, hopefully soon.

Room tip: As only 4 rooms not much choice.

We have not stayed but, we were extremely fortunate to stop here for a meal. The welcome from the staff was so pleasant as though they knew us. The food was first class and both girls who looked after us were a delight and an asset to the property. It is a shame that we found this pub on our last night as we would have visited again. I definitely recommend that anyone stop for a meal.

After a cold and wet walk, we visited Travellers Rest Inn for a drink and a bite to eat. A lovely dog friendly pub with very helpful and friendly staff. The food was great and staff were really helpful when our lovely little dog unfortunately had a seizure (she's fine but it was very frightening). Would definitely recommend.

Amazing staff, service and food. Probably the best place to eat in Northumberland. Been here several times on our visits to Slaley. Never fails to impress. If you want to impress your friends, bring them here to eat
