We were greeted on arrival and shown the 'workings' of the lodge, hot tub, fire etc. The owners were very friendly and helpful; although the lodge is next to their house, there is a partition so you do feel totally detached, bliss!
The lodge itself was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Lovely hot shower, comfy bed, huge sofa ready to cwtch up on in the evenings.
There's no wifi and 3G/4G is almost non existent, but if you're looking for a detachment break, this is ideal. There were plenty of information guides supplied and there had written a guide of the local area too; pubs, shops etc.
The welcome basket of goodies was a lovely addition.
I would highly recommend this beautiful lodge! Perfect for a romantic weekend retreat or a get away for families wanting to get some quality tome together.
We stayed here for just three nights, but could happily have stayed longer.
The cabin is completely private and has been furnished to a high standard and is very homely - it was really comfortable and everything has been thought of. Everything was immaculately clean (which cannot be said for many self-catering places) and the basics are provided - for example hand soap, loo roll, salt and pepper mills etc - which normally I'd take with me. The little things like that make such a difference. The owners left us a lovely basket of treats, and when we arrived Lynda was super helpful in showing us everything and telling us about the local area.
Going to stay somewhere with no phone signal and no wi-fi was just bliss! The hot tub was a lovely treat, and very relaxing. We enjoyed (far too many!) glasses of wine sitting in it and chatting away. We really hope to return again soon.
We didn't want to leave a review for this place as it's so perfect we'd like to hide it from the world. We've just enjoyed a 3 night stay and nothing could have been better. From the moment we arrived and were met by our lovely host, Lynda, we knew we were in for a treat. This beautiful cabin is so secluded that when we first arrived, we weren't even sure it was there. Every aspect of the cabin has been thoroughly thought out with the comfort and enjoyment of the guests clearly a priority. A lovely welcome basket with a selection of treats, and essentials like tea, coffee, milk and juice was waiting for us in the beautifully appointed kitchen. This even included a bag of treats for the dog! The log burner was already set, ready for us to just put a match to. All fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard, the bed is simply heaven. The cabin is quite literally in the forest. Step out of the gate and turn left, straight onto woodland trails, and wake in the morning to squirrels outside the bedroom window. This place really is something special. If you want a few days "away from it all", book it, stay there, you won't be disappointed, but please don't tell anyone else and don't book it when we want it
