We have had a few training events at Mount Richmond and each time they have been great with their service. Michelle (conference manager) is brilliant to deal with and very helpful. The accommodation was good, and the food was nice.

They managed to fit 6 family members in due to a breavement. The service was outstanding. Friendly, accommodating staff with nothing being too much trouble. Dinner and breakfast was excellent in the restaurant. We would be happy to stay again. Than you.

Staff are very welcoming and helpful and this creates a very homely environment.
Food is excellent'
The rooms are not modern but are comfortable and everything works well.
Can be noisy if a group of guest arrive late from the airport or leave early.

Stayed here for one night after arriving into Auckland airport. Pretty functional 'motor lodge'-style place with poolside bar. Room smelled of mildew but was clean and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast wasn't included in our rate and was a pretty expensive addition. Did the job but not somewhere I'd rush back to.

Mt Richmond Hotel Mt Wellington Auckland.
At check in we had to wait for 10 minutes because there was only 1 staff member on duty on a busy Saturday after noon with a tour bus checking in a wedding in the garden and guest for the wedding not knowing where to go because of no signage, Other people wanting to exchange currency and the poor young receptionist freaking out over it all happening at once.
Finally checked in room was small but ok up two flights of stairs carrying our bags, all was fine until 10.30pm when the tour bus came back from dinner. The tour people where so loud and dis respectful to all other guest. Some tried to open our door around 10.30pm with there key card and around 11pm I had had enough of the noise so I went out to tell them to keep it down, At the same time a big Maori lady also walked out of her room with the same idea. I think her voice was louder than mine and she looked Moore threatening, so they tour group soon went quiet and went to bed.
I thought that was the end of it (for the noise I mean), but there was a broken gutter out side of the window that was dripping onto a aircon unit on the ground. It was like trying to sleep to water torcher.
Walls are paper thin in the rooms, hallway carpets need changing, staff are friendly,
Parking can be a nightmare if they have an event on so you may want to check that before booking in, some guest had to park down the street on the foot path, not sure if they got a ticket from the rangers or not, we drove around for 3 hours and when we got back we managed to find a car park on the street in front of the Hotel.
Not sure I would call it value for money. I guess in a quiet room on the right night it might of been different.
