We had wanted to visit this hotel for some while and had the opportunity on the first night of a holiday, travelling north. The hotel is cosy and the rooms very comfortable.
The views from the restaurant would be lovely but this was one of the few nights of torrential rain during this summer! However, it was my birthday and we had an excellent meal of a steak which was born and bred a mile down the road. It was succulent and tender. With a glass of excellent house red the meal more than made up for a rainy birthday! The restaurant staff were pleasant and helpful.

Room tip: Ring ahead if you need an accessible room as there is a lift but only on one side of the hotel and next to the restaurant.

Brilliant to hear that you joined us on your special day.

We're so glad that you enjoyed a relaxing stay and enjoyed your meal with us. Just a shame that you can't rely on the Cumbrian weather!

We hope to see you again soon :)

Best Wishes,
Josh

Visited this Hotel on route south. Great location. Superb food. The friendliness of the staff was outstanding. Breakfast excellent. Both cat and dog made to feel so welcome, and the treats for the pets in the rooms were a lovely touch. Cannot
fault this place.

This is a very good example of a business which knows its market. As the reviews suggest, much of the traffic is people heading from Scotland to England (and vice versa) breaking the long journey. Unless the delays on the M6 further south disappear - pigs might fly! - the need is going to be there.
Tebay fulfils the needs - quiet, comfortable (actually very, the beds are enormous), clean, friendly, and with a good breakfast. Also it's dog-friendly. True, a B&B will be cheaper, but you can't exactly turn up at a B&B at midnight.
It is slightly more expensive than a Travelodge or Premier Inn, but good value nevertheless.

We were staying in a hotel local to this service stop, we ate there a couple of times. food was always of a high quality, served up by very nice staff. for a service station with high turnover the restaurant was clean and tidy. The adjacent farm shop with fresh artisan bread was fantastic (you get what you pay for). will call again. there is a hotel adjacent

I spent the night at this hotel when travelling from north of Scotland to Warwickshire. It is ideal, with spacious, comfortable clean rooms with a decent bathroom, and the dining and bar areas are equally good, with delicious dinner and breakfast with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The hotel is set well back from the M6 so is quiet, and is also "dog friendly" which suited me and Inca!
