North Kilduff is a great house. We found it extremely comfortable, inviting, relaxing and cosy; we settled in very easy and quickly.
The large kitchen table and seating area in the living room made for a very social experience, great for family and friends to chat. And since the kitchen is well stocked with pretty much anything you could ever need to cook and eat, you may find yourselves lingering in the kitchen while cooking, chatting, and admiring the gorgeous views of the Scottish countryside through the large double French door windows. You’ll even see some of the many well-behaved polo horses walking out near the patio as they make their way from the stables to graze.
One of my favourite things about North Kilduff is the fact that the house has a working stable and is situated amongst farmland. For me it added that much extra to the whole experience.
The house was exceptionally clean, including in all the nooks and crannies. I found the bedding, linens and pillows to be super comfortable and high quality. The showers are fabulous, with strong pressure and more hot water than you could likely ever need.
You’d be hard pressed to find a better location than here to explore most of Scotland. Some of the bigger centres Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews are a bit over 1 hour away, as is Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and the edge of Cairngorms National Park. Also there’s a huge Sainsbury’s about 15 minutes just east past the round-about.
The house is “L”-shaped, and the (seemingly) smaller part of the house is closed off by a locked door in the kitchen, with the owners still living in that separate part of the house. We had no issues with the arrangement, and actually only saw Thom once on our last morning. Also, the laundry facilities appear to be in the part of the house the owners would be staying in. They said they would accommodate for guest, though we never needed it, so may want to clarify about this if needed.
Great experience, next time in Scotland, will be trying to stay here again!

I booked this holiday rental for my husband, myself and our 2 teenage sons as we were having a weekend at Knockhill Racecourse.
This house looked lovely on the pictures and we were not disappointed however we did not realise that the owners of the house would still be living within the house. The owners did not impose themselves on us however when we were in the kitchen area we could hear the owners through the door.
The house is lovely decorated but still remains very personal to the owners with many sentimental items eg. photos still on display. The owners overall were very pleasant and welcoming. We were aware that the house is on a working polo club however we didn't expect the stables to be as close to the patio area as they were.
