“Perfect hideaway for 2”
Reviewed 6 July 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Loved this hideaway for 2 ideal location for us we were blessed with exceptional weather the week we stayed. There is a shady area to sit or if you prefer you can sit in the sun. John and Liz are great hosts advising us of places to eat out. in the area. The accommodation is well thought out and the kitchen area includes a dishwasher with a washing machine in the utility area. Loved the picture montage and brief history of the coach house.

“A home from home......”
Reviewed 1 April 2018 for a stay in March 2018

The cottage is ideally situated, just off the A40, 3 miles outside Ross on Wye, giving access to the Cotwolds, Herefordshire, Brecon Beacons and South Wales - in just under an hour. An idyllic country retreat, with all the sights and sounds of the countryside, located in private grounds with ample parking. A very peaceful location. A great place to get away from everything, de-stress or have a romantic weekend!
The owners have given every thought to providing all mod cons from washing machine, dishwasher, ironing board, everything, so it is a good base for exploring the area with somewhere secure to return. The cottage has been renovated from an unused property some years ago to a high standard accommodation with high quality furnishings to suit. Gas Centrally heated and very snug on cold nights. The owners live adjacent but do not interfere in your comings and goings and are polite and friendly. In fact we found all the locals in the area and beyond were extremely friendly. It must be the fresh air!
There are various local walks and attractions locally within 5 miles and some recommended local gastro pubs of varying quality.
No complaints and highly recommended.

“Perfection”

Our week at Granton Coach House, Goodrich was outstanding and we wished we had booked two. The property is immaculate, very spacious for two and has been sympathetically modernised. It is well equipped and wonderfully quiet. A pleasure to come back to after busy day sightseeing.

Goodrich Village is a beautiful location. It has the Castle with a tea shop, a small local shop and pubs with good food, all within walking distance. Goodfich is perfectly situated as a base for exploring the area with National Trust properties and numerous places of interest to visit. We walked to Symonds Yat for lunch and enjoyed the breathtaking scenery.

The owners Liz and John are friendly and helpful and we hope to see them again next year.

“PERFECT RETREAT”

Granton Coach House is a lovely cosy cottage ideally located for visiting the local area of the Wye Valley, with a wealth of wild life in the cottage grounds. Coppett Hill Ridge is a short walk from the cottage, full of Bluebells and wild Orchids at this time of the year.
Goodrich Castle is only a short distance away on foot and is well worth a visit.
The owners of Granton House who live only a few yards away are a wealth of knowledge on the local area which makes your visit to this part the country even more rewarding!
Within walking distance are a couple of good local eating places the Hostelrie (near Goodrich castle) and the Cross Keys.
For garden lovers Hampton Court Castle Gardens near Leominster and Dewstow Hidden Gardens near Caldicot both about 3/4 hour away are a must see!!

“Lovely house in a lovely location”
Reviewed 23 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

This is a real home from home. We stay in a lot of holiday homes and this is one of the nicest we have ever been in. It was really clean and welcoming, with lots of light coming in. The bed was really comfortable and had nice quality bed linen. It was in a very quiet location with the owners nearby if there were any problems. It was very warm with the facility to override the heating if necessary. There is also a wood burner, but we never needed it. Also there was a plentiful supply of dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls etc., which often isn't the case! We were able to visit Ross on Wye, Monmouth, Gloucester and Hereford by bus. The local pub, the Hostelrie, was a short walk away which had excellent food. There was lots of walking right from the door, with walking books provided in the house. Symonds Yat Rock is a must to see the nesting peregrine falcons and the most fantastic views. All in all would highly recommend and would like to visit again.
