We had a wonderful time at the El Cid resort. It was a great choice of destination for sure after the Puerto Vallarta trip we had planned fell through due to our original airline cancelling flights.
Main pool & family infinity pool were both awesome, the staff were very friendly & most knew English quite well. Lobby was a great hang-out place for playing cards & having drinks. The main buffet area wasn’t as big as the Iberostar resorts, but the food was still very good. However, the Italian a la carte restaurant (Trattoria Di Giulio) was just amazing food & best of all was the lunch buffet zone (Mercado de Delores) which was like a food fair with a whole bunch of international eateries buffet style.
The hurricane Helene took us out of commission for 2 days as it was category 1 & the a la carte reservations were cancelled for those 2 nights as well as the pools, etc. Exciting stuff though!
There were 13 in our group & all were happy. One went on a scuba excursion & others went to Chitchen Itza. I’m sure there’s more stuff to mention, but I’m going to unpack now that we’re home from our 8-day vacay.
