As always Desire RM did not disappoint. The new facilities are extremely nice! The rooms and new pool are very well done and having a quiet and party side is so nice for different vibes. As always the staff did an amazing job. Javi the playmaker did a great job with activities and organizing all the activities. Javi did a great job dancing all night, getting the party started, and keeping it going. All the playmaker were extremely fun and social with guest. No idea how Desire can keep such a great staff!

As always Leo put together such fun volleyball games and did a great job playing! The bar tender Carlos at the quiet pull did a great job with service and always had my drink ready. Aaron at the hot tub is another outstanding bar tender!

This was by far the best DRM trip we have had we will definitely be back!

Same resort, more problems. This is comments from staff that we tend to agree on. Larger resort with not enough staff. All the qualities that made this resort stand out and be successful were overlooked. The owner thought bigger and better was the way to go when many patrons visited because of the small close personal atmosphere. Now it's just another temptations. After three consecutive years, we won't be back. Same old problems with a face lift. People will be fooled no doubt but in the end, the business will lose money.

We just returned from our first visit to this resort - a 10 night stay. Our room was on the second floor of the new Eden building and other than the sticking front door, everything was excellent. Very spacious with an in-room jacuzzi, double sinks, huge shower, loads of closet and storage space, very comfortable bed, excellent A/C, well stocked mini bar etc.
Lots of very good things about this resort but the one that comes immediately to mind is the wonderful attitude of the staff. From the playmakers to the butlers to the restaurant workers, everyone is extremely friendly and they always have time for your stupid questions! Even the maintenance crew make the time to smile and say ‘hello’! A special shout out to LeFranc, Patricia (coffee bar), Kevin, Pina, Eunice & Dany G. Suggest you take lots of smaller bills with you as the staff work especially hard and really appreciate a few tips here and there.
The new swimming pool is huge albeit way too warm. If you like to swim, the old pool is much cooler and usually deserted first thing in the morning. The beach is virtually non-existent and the ocean is often choked with seaweed so best to avoid.
The food was excellent and we tried all the restaurants. Getting a dinner reservation is sometimes tricky but providing you are flexible with location & time, they can usually get you in somewhere. The buffet is well presented and it was good to see a complete absence of burgers & hot dogs! Lots of healthy options and I really like the fact that you could eat at almost anytime of the day. Other nice touches include readily available umbrellas for when it rains, real cloth hand towels in the restrooms and a very pleasant fragrance in all the common areas (not sure how they do that but these small things make a noticeable difference).
The new rooftop jacuzzi is also huge and this is where the action happens after about 5pm. Close by is the nightclub which is extremely well equipped with top notch sound and lighting, along with a raised (lit) dance floor. It is a tad too loud if you want to have any kind of chat and ordering a drink can be challenging but they do make some great cocktails.
The gym is small but adequate. Apparently it will soon be moved into the old lobby so this will give it a more open feeling.
We could really only come up with two negatives: the boutique is a complete rip off – someone mentioned paying $16 for a small tube of Tums – and I would argue that you could take an Uber into town, buy almost anything you need, get a ride back and still save a boat load of money! Maybe if they made the prices more reasonable, guests would actually shop there? The other issue is with the music volume around the pool during the daytime. It starts off at a nice level and as the day progresses, it gets louder and louder – until you end up having to shout to the person right next to you! I guess we could have moved to the ‘quiet’ pool, however if you want to see some action, you will want to be around the new (noisy) pool!
These are only two, minor quibbles as overall, the resort is clean, well run and we will definitely return in the near future.
