The restaurant provides impressive meals in the northern part of Pemba--something I did not expect! I am accustomed to the basic sandwich and chips restaurants associated with dive lodges but Gecko Nature Restaurant was a lovely surprise for the 4 days I was diving and staying at the lodge.

The fish was fresh and they served it with salads with greens picked from the garden. It was delicious! They also had a yummy pumpkin soup and calamari salad which would rival any restaurant on the mainland.

The family style seating contributed to a lovely environment as other divers enjoyed sharing stories--it was welcome since I was traveling solo! I highly recommend the gecko nature restaurant!

It was a very good experience to have a dinner with Mike and his spouse. The food was fresh with a lot of local and home made incrediences.
