Stayed 1 night at this lovely Hotel . The Hotel was done out in a mix of old & modern, beautifully done , we stayed in the Hotel upstairs , there was a lovely wee lounge up stairs for guests . The staff were amazing , so friendly & welcoming , nothing was a problem .Was good to go & have a few drinks with the locals in the evening. The food & breakfast was excellent, There were cottages to stay in as well . We were doing the Wilderness Trail . The bike & charging facilities was excellent .Would Highly Recommend & we will defenitly be back .

We stayed in Burridges cottage just up the road from the main hotel & cottages. It is a 2 bed, 2 bath old cottage and was very quaint and peaceful.
The cottage is clean, the beds were comfortable, we all slept well ( 4 adults ) and the showers hot and powerful.
Aside from that, the furnishings in the lounge are very tired ( old is ok but worn and ripped material is not )
The “kitchen with full facilities “ does not contain an oven ! And when you arrive with some potatoes for baking with a chilli that’s a problem! The kitchen cupboard is lacking in basic equipment such as a wooden spoon!
We ate in the restaurant on our first night instead of our second and the food was very good.
We mentioned the lack of an oven to a staff member who was shocked.
I’d like the owners to try and prepare a hearty meal in that kitchen and maybe then they’ll realise a few more basic items are needed !
Overall a good stay and good value when split between 2 families.

We stayed two nights but not consecutive. So, one night we had a miners cottage which was great, very quiet and well laid out. Enjoyed the big bath, and full kitchen. The other night we stayed in a room upstairs. It was much smaller but very nicely laid out too. Nice linen and comfortable bed.

We stayed at the Miner's cottage (2 couples) whilst doing the West Coast Wilderness Trail and it was lovely, roomy and has a nice outlook from the back. Clean, everything we needed - would stay here again. Nice having the restaurant right next door!

Stayed one night after cycling from Greymouth in one of the houses they offer. Self contained room with ensuite. The house has shared kitchen, lounge and dining table. Great bike storage over at the hotel. We also had dinner and breakfast in the hotel which was excellent. Well cooked and presented food. Staff very friendly and professional. Our room was comfortable, clean and the old style deco very pleasing g. The bed was very comfortable, nice linens, all very clean.

Room tip: Good bike storage room with washing machine and dryer.

After completing a day of cycling the Wilderness Trail we needed some sustenance. The hotel was open, so we gave it a try. What a beautifully restored bar area. All period furniture tastefully arranged. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. All the dinner tables had fresh flower arrangement. The locals were arriving and all were welcomed like family. A special experience. Our meal was great. Strongly recommend a visit if you are in the area. We were assured that the accommodation was as good as the bar area and fully booked out in season.
