Caveat that each persons budget sets different expectation, for us per night cost in Samoa we expected a little more.
Positives:
- location was stunning, beautiful beach, beautiful water
- resort well set up to the surroundings
- Spacious room
Downsides:
- In hindsight I actually think on check in they hadn't properly set up our room, it wasnt properly clean, we had no beach towels (but since learnt they did provide them)
- website states cleaned every 2 days, we stayed 4 nights and was cleaned late 3rd day (when we realised they do provide beach towels!)
- Food cost was not reflected in the quality. Totally appreciate island life and availability but it was unfortunate to the extent we experienced, 2/4 days no fish at all, often other things not available, but limited alternatives on the menu or in the vicinity
- room needs some TLC: safe was broken, toilet never stopped running so was noisy, lights broken, basin didnt drain properly, door lock was on its last legs - none of which is the end of the world but with some attention could be much better experience.
Other unfortunate which was totally out of their control is some of the site lost electricity - though our issue was more how they dealt with it and lack of communication, no offer of another room (others still had electricity) or information provided as they worked to get it fixed.
Don't get me wrong it was a lovely stay and the location was great, just with some TLC it could be so much more and make it worth the money.
Note also Dive shop was closed Dec - Jan, again our fault for not checking before booking but note to check if you are wanting to Dive.
