Disappointed and Disgusted

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 25 Dec 2023
First time our family visited and stayed in the resort and we were welcomed with a wide open arms. The staff were sweet but by the time we got to our rooms we checked the water was off for the sink, shower and toilet. Our AC also wasnt working. We contacted the receptionist/staff/owner for an assistance if they could fix the water and AC straight away but it looked like they dont care as much as we do cause we paid thousands for our stay. We asked them for like the 10th time cause our family really needed to have showers cause we ride all around Savaii. So what we did we used one room where water is working and their warm pool. Customer service was very bad, we may be locals but they should treat us like they treated the Palagis we stayed at the resort. Whenever members of our family asked for this and that but they always gave us that “dont want to serve you” looks cause we dressed up not nice and we are locals. Expectations were high for the resort cause we saw some good reviews about their service and everything but with our family no it is a different story. Meal prices was such a rip off.
Do not recommend this place for a stay when visiting the beautiful big island.

Beautiful location and pool and the bones are there but it could do with some more love and attention to detail.
One lamp in our room had mold on it, one was clean.
The mirror in our room wasnt clean (minor thing but noticeable)
Other than that room is good, aircon strong, shower had hot water, views lovely. Bed was firm but got the job done.
No snorkeling gear available which is a shame because the snorkeling on your doorstep is nice. The resort next door had some and we used that.
There was broken glass beside the pool both days we stayed at the resort and when we raised it with the bartender we were met with indifference and they didnt check the area or attempt to clean it.
Re transfers make sure you triple check it with reception.
The food was solid but next door at the barefoot bar the food was exceptional. Go there.
No wifi - but there is a store across the road that has local sims and they are cheap and the owner there is lovely and helpful.
For Savaii its probably the place to stay still, but it'd be great if the owners lifted their game a fraction. It could be amazing

We loved out time at Le Lagoto Resort. The staff was extra friendly, very welcoming, the rooms were beautiful and also the activities available was just what we needed. We loved the fiafia night and the dinners available. Very clean and I will surely go back again. Highly recommend.

Main bed hard as a rock

    Food options were extremely limited.

An entire menu was limited down to only two options for breakfast.

Advised via phone and email prior to arriving regarding food allergies.

Buffet night, we were advised by main receptionist one of us could have an individual meal due to allergies.

No options edible for them off the buffet.

    $75 Tala per person.
Two of the food options were not edible for us.
    One being raw fish.

Upon arriving for dinner, the lady ushering us in advised the individual plate was not an option at all. Her tone and mannerism was really quite rude.

After explaining clearly the pre arranged option, she then stated she would have to ask the chef if they would do that.

Thank you chef. Whom did allow one of our party to eat that night.

Felt like we were in a prison camp with limited food and drinks and grumpy personalities.

This resort was better than the other one on Upolo though.

Wouldn’t recommend, if you don’t like putting your hand in your pocket unnecessarily, very regularly.

Sorry Samoa, you have let us down.

There is so much to love about this piece of heaven!
The resort situated on the beach - private bungalows a few steps from
    The waters edge.
The impressive dining area overlooks the water. The sunsets are Devine!
You feel so rested and rejuvenated after a night here.
The Fia Fia night and buffet is authentic and delicious.
This is my second visit and I will definitely be returning.
