This was our 3rd visit to this hotel and will definitely not be our last! The location is perfect, the staff are all so polite and helpful with a 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude. This hotel seems to have found such a good balance with the evenings offering light music in the lobby or the option of a more upbeat evening watching the outside entertainment. I would like to give a little shout out to all the entertainment team especially Megan & Dowie who tirelessly worked at making sure all were happy day or evening - a very hard working duo and great people! Also Rich who gave us a stunning Michael Jackson tribute show! (just should have been longer :)) I know my husband would like me to also thank Christos who manages the gym, great guy! Our room was cleaned every day with fresh bedding put on and bathroom supplies replenished :) Couldn't have asked for better cleaners. I would have definitely given a 5 star rating however, we were a little disappointed with the dinner options on this visit - didn't seem as many choices meat wise and a little fatty and the pasta was cold. I am very confident that the hotel look at reviews and would rectify any issues they deem necessary. Breakfast was great - fresh omelette every day! If you visit this hotel, you will not be disappointed and if you look at other reviews, you'll probably want to return year after year too!!!

Room Tip: Always request a sea view - stunning

Arrive late as we were delayed. As everyone says..met by a drink and bags taken to our room. Food left in the fridge. We went down to the bar and there was also rolls to eat. Staff very friendly..which made a great start. We had had a car accident on the way to airport and it was my birthday the day we travelled. They had left birthday cards..champagne.balooms , flowers and a cake in my room...I was really surprised and touched by their kindness. So made the day so much better ..thank you xx
Plentiful sun beds all around the hotel. Lot s if shady areas too, for those like myself who don’t like full sun when it’s really hot. So easy to walk along path next to beach . We got taxi back because it was so hot. 8 euros. But in every day a taxi stopped when we were at the bus stopped and actually offered same price a s bus. It’s 3 euros return. Staff here work extremely hard ..place is spotlessly clean. Food is very plentiful and lots of choice.
Water is free if just going to the bar or in restaurants, but you have to buy bottles for your room or to take out. I feel it should be free in your room at least.
I would certainly return. It’s a fab hotel and it’s in a lovely place. People are very friendly
Have stayed at adults only before and can be older people. I am 64 and I would say that the week we stayed they we much younger adults. Very mixed,
Great hotel and great holiday. They deserve a high rating, well done to all of you..that hard work pays off.

As in previous visits, we had a wonderful holiday at this beautiful hotel. All the staff are so helpful and friendly and it was good to see that Andreas in the restaurant has returned after a break of one year. Many fellow guests had, like us, been several times before which is recommendation in itself.

Many comments have been made about the food and we would agree that breakfast is the best meal. However, there is always plenty of choice at all meals and although the food can become a little repetitive, the chefs work extremely hard to lay on a very good selection for all courses.

The entertainment is mediocre, although the Irish dancing and the Fire and Fakir performances were superb. This year there was singing (?) in the lobby each evening which we felt was a mistake.

We have already booked for the equivalent fortnight next year and just hope that the extensions to the hotel that are planned over the winter will not spoil this gem of a hotel.

Overall an excellent location, plenty of bars and restaurants close by. Nice clean hotel, good choice and quality of food. Staff very friendly and helpful.“All inclusive “ wasn’t quite all - some drinks had to be paid for, as did the room safe. Room was the biggest let down number 473, very small, quite shabby although very clean, and not enough space to hang clothes up. Also the telephone didn’t work so couldn’t ring reception and TV was intermittent. Sandwich in the fridge when we arrived was a nice touch as we’d had a late flight. We were going to keep the room on for a few hours as we had a late flight home but at €80 we decided not to.Overall we had a good holiday but wouldn’t return to this hotel because of the room quality.

Room Tip: Keep away from room 473

My husband and I have just returned from 2 weeks at the Cypria Maris, this is our second visit in four years. When we booked many months ago TUI said they only had a sea view room available and charged us a supplement of £440, making the total cost of the holiday £3512! This was a blatant lie by TUI and just a ploy to get more money from us. Having paid all that we were really disappointed with all aspects of the room - it was very small with a tiny balcony that we never used and the sea view wasn’t that great. Some days we didn’t even know if the room had been cleaned. The annoying thing is that many other guests we spoke to, some on their first visit, were allocated sea view rooms at no extra cost. Some were even upgraded to bungalows and swim up rooms and given the privilege of a gold wrist band entitling them to branded drinks.....again, at no extra cost and for this reason we will NEVER pay a sea view supplement again and take our chances when being allocated a room. If you query this with the staff all they say is that it’s down to what’s available at the time.

The hotel itself is ideally located and has its own section of beach which we used every day. Most of the staff are lovely, especially Helen on reception but some of the younger ones need to smile a bit more. They all work very hard though.

The entertainment was just OK. There is usually a singer on in the lobby bar each night.....some good, some not so good. We did see a singing/dancing act one night which were very good. More of those types of act are needed. No one really wants to watch fire acts or Irish dancers!

The food is one of the hilights at the Maris. Breakfasts are excellent, followed closely by lunch and dinner. Everything is well cooked, hot and fresh. We didn’t try the Asian a la carte and wasn’t really impressed by the Greek one.

It’s a well known fact that another two floors are to be added to the hotel in readiness for next season. This news has concerned a lot of repeat guests, including ourselves and two friends, as we had already booked for next June before we learned of the pending alterations. Everyone feels this is a huge mistake (including staff) as the hotel already felt crowded when we were there, having to queue for meals and drinks etc. so this is currently a great concern to us and we are now considering changing our plans.

A massive negative regarding the Cypria Maris is the very poor quality of the drinks. The beer was always flat - no life in it at all. Why they cannot serve KEO like all the other hotels on the island is a mystery?? The cocktails were made by very young staff who hadn’t been trained and this proved a point when we had a Pina Colada, which incidentally costs €7 as it isn’t included in the All Inclusive package. It was dreadful! We found it was more the mature guests who had issues with the drinks - the younger ones seem happy to drink anything!

Having said all that, we did have a lovely holiday, probably made more so because we were with friends. We just hope that the alterations that are about to happen isn’t going to be detrimental to the hotel as it stands now.

Room Tip: Pay a sea view supplement at your peril.
