Well to start with I have given one star for the sole reason the hotel was nice and the pools were clean etc but that's as good as it gets. Where do I start? Our first disappointment was when we got there after a late flight we were refused food despite the fact we explained our situation to them. This resulted in us having to pay £12 for a breakfast the next morning (despite the fact it was advertised as £7.50) and the breakfast was the biggest disappointment with the choices ranging from bacon with fat running through it to stale cornflakes. If I had paid for all inclusive I would be very disappointed.

In our self catering apartment at first glance everything seemed perfect yet on closer inspection we realised despite being equipped with a kettle, oven and fridge there was absolutely no plates, bowls, glasses or cutlery. Were we supposed to pack this in our luggage? This resulted in us having to buy plastic plates, cups and cutlery from the local shop.

Despite wifi being advertised as being all over the hotel including in the rooms this is completely untrue. If you want a good connection you have to sit in the lobby area, everywhere else in the hotel the connection is pretty much non existent.

Now let me start on the staff, I understand that they will not have perfect English and I would not expect them to as it isn't there first language but the majority of the staff (expect one girl on reception) needed things spelling out for them which isn't what you expect in a tourist hotel. For example, we ran out of toilet paper in our room and I went to ask for more from reception and instead I was given a4 paper from the printer. In addition, there is no "do not disturb" sign so the cleaners just barge in at any time they please with them sometimes not even attempting to clean the room some days and then bursting in 3 times in one day.

The name "Pafiana heights resort and spa" is also a joke with the spa being completely deserted every single day we were there. It was clear the hotel had recently been taken over and the name had been changed to "blue sky resort" when we got there and this change in ownership was clear throughout our stay with the staff being all over the place half the time. And I don't want to accuse anyone of anything but the hotel did seem like it had been set up as a money laundering business.

The hotel is also in the middle of no where with a taxi to the centre costing €10 each way which isn't bad but when you have to do it there and back every night (which is necessary as there is literally nothing going on at the hotel) it all adds up.

Our aircon began leaking water leaving puddles all over the room and we immediately turned it off when we realised knowing the health hazards and when we explained to reception the next day nothing was done so we just had to survive in our room with only one aircon machine in the bedroom & this was next level hell.

Overall if you want a holiday with rude and unhelpful staff in the middle of nowhere this is the perfect place for you. But if you have any sense pay a little extra for something that will be twice as good.

Beautiful hotel nice apartment which was clean tidy. Reception helpful and no fighting for a sun bed !! Only problem it was up the top of a hill and unless you are very fit you will need a taxi. It's about 15 min drive from the town and very isolated. So if you want complete relaxation and a very quiet spot this is for you. The bar shut at 11pm and food at 9pm. Food was overpriced a little for what it was.

Our daughter booked her wedding reception for this July, a year in advance, got in contact this week with them to finalise details and they had no record of the booking even though she had paid a substantial deposit and booked three rooms, needless to say she wont be getting any money back because there is nothing on their computers . I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone, totally ruined her reception and piled stress on her BEWARE
