“As good as we remembered!”
Reviewed 10 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

We previously visited The Byre two years ago and since then we have stayed in several other place since but nothing compares to how lovely The Byre is. So we decided to return and it was just as good as I remembered! We just love watching the birds and the view, relaxing by the fire and being spoilt by your welcome hamper. You certainly haven't seen the last of us! Sophie and Larry

Thank you so much for this lovely review. It's wonderful when people return- we feel our hard work has been rewarded- and it's especially great when our guests enjoy the birds and wildlife. Perhaps when you return next time we might be able to show you the badger sett....weather permitting. X

“Beautiful stay in an enchanting place.”
Reviewed 19 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

At the bottom of the farm track you are overwhelmed immediately by the beautiful cottage. Michelle and Steve gave us a warm and friendly welcome making us feel right at home. They showed us around the cottage and then let us settle in. The thoughtful welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the lemon drizzle cake went down a real treat. The cottage is in a lovely spot with views that are breathtaking. We walked into Hay on Wye and explored the town there is lots to see and do, the Warren was a particular highlight. The cottage was cosy and warm and had all the essential equipment to make a hearty meal. We will be visiting again very soon.

“Just as magical the second time round!”
Reviewed 27 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

As you approach the farm down the track, the sense of calm deepens and the spell is cast. We were lucky to have glorious weather again, and the garden and surrounding countryside looked stunning. The charming Byre itself has been impeccably maintained, inside and out, and Michele and Steve continue to be the perfect hosts, attentive but discreet, so that you have all the privacy you want, but useful 'insider' knowledge and advice on hand, should you require it. The little touches are still much in evidence: fresh flowers, high-quality toiletries, an eclectic range of books, a delicious and generous welcome hamper, not forgetting, of course, the best lemon-drizzle cake in the world, which was (incredibly) even more mouthwatering than we had remembered. Panoramic walks, the charms of Hay-on Wye just down the road, and great local pubs and eateries are some of the other joys of staying in the Byre.

Liked best: Michele and Steve's high standards were obvious in relation to all aspects of the holiday-let.
Liked least: There was nothing to criticise.
