Just north of Chiavenna, near the village of Piuro, on the way to the Bregaglia valley, stands a cosy and warm Agriturismo. Food is all home made and there is also a shop where you can buy products from the farm and the surrounding woods (such as dog rose jam or pine cone syrup or chestnut cakes). Food is genuine and well priced, considering that a fantastic brasato di manzo costs less than 10 euros.. Desserts are very good and sophisticated in the capable hands of Mariarosa, such as sorbets and croustade. Definitely worth a stop along the way. Service very warm and friendly.

We arrived at 1pm and had to wait a few minutes despite its size, there was also a coach there which probably didnt help. We only had primi, which were both good and sfuzo wine which was ok. My only disappointed was a personal one in that the reviews I had read led me to believe it to be smaller. There is also a children play area and the possibility to enter the stalls where the goats, cows and chickens are.

This is not the first time I vist with my family, but the last occasion was my other half's 40th and we had a blast.
The location is amazing, close to the Cascate, the place is spacious and light.
We were a table of 10 and had the most amazing local food experience. Antipasti, great primi, amazing meat and desserts.
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a good choice of wine and one of the owners is a sommelier so you could not ask for more.
Would suggest reserving a table if planning a visit on Saturday or Sunday.
Definitely not my last visit!

Stopped by for lunch, chose totally random. Could haven't been better! Location is beautiful, close to a waterfall. Inside the restaurant is all stone and wood with a giant fireplace that keeps people warm. Food is delicious, people is friendly and service is fast.
And last but not least price is more than reasonable. Highly recommended!
