Room was large and clean, location is perfect for the beach, Probably the nicest staff ever, Tommo the Manager a lovely guy always making sure everything was OK, Rocco the best barman ever, Sinead the lovely Irish lady who worked as waitress and Barperson, and the local Irish Scottish and English who live in the area and call in for a beer r two every day were so friendly and welcoming. Brilliant holiday will b back very soon.

Where do I begin well from the start I have 3 kids and use a buggy... Lift to the foyer or ramp NO area for the Mini mart supermarket about 25 stairs no lift no ramp then the room we asked for sea view didn't get it ... Reception put the AC which kept turning off every time we left the room and to get it back on would require calling reception again !!!! Asked for wine and chocolates and a note to be left saying happy Father's Day and happy birthday.. No note wine not even left on display in a ice bucket just very poor

The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. We had a superior room which had plenty of space though not a great view (walls) but this didn't cause a problem as we weren't in much. Stayed for a week, towels changed every second day. There was a choice of two pool we preferred the rooftop with view of the sea. Food was good and reasonably price and the mini market had a good range including a good selection of gluten free. Great location for a peaceful holiday with a choice of restuartants near by and the beach is just a short walk away. If your wanting to explore the island it's cheaper to get a day bus ticket which enables you to get on and off at your lesuire and only costs a few euro, so just cheaper than a tour bus and takes you to all the the places of interest across the island. Would definitely use this hotel again and was a great price

Room Tip: If you want a Sea view and away from traffic noise make sure you don't book a superior room

Knowing this resort very well we sent 3 emails requesting a high sea facing room and our booking agent also contacted the hotel, despite this we were given a 1st floor room above the bar and reception 10 feet from the busiest road in malta. We could hear the noise from the bar up until 12.30 am and then would be woke up at 6 when the fleet of buses and trucks and cars start the trips to the gozo ferry, upto 8 local buses pass our room every 40 minutes and then there are the deliveries most mornings. Things were so bad we tried another hotel and our JET2 rep never contacted us in 2 weeks of our stay we had to ring uk office. After 3 sleepless nights we moved to another hotel for 3 days just to get some sleep. Eventually we were moved to a quieter room but sadly the damage was done. Hotel was clean and tidy and the rooftop pool is a winner but if next door flushes their toilet it sounded like it was ours flushing. If you like sleep i would avoid this hotel and rooms are not available till 2 pm.

Dear Quinney09,

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. Your feedback is very important to us.

It is a pleasure to note that you have found the Luna Holiday Complex clean and tidy and enjoyed the rooftop pool during your visit.

We are sorry to hear that you found the room to be noisy from the road traffic underneath. We have been in contact with the authorities to find a solution which may reduce the traffic or at least for drivers to reduce speed upon approaching the closest bend. It is also planned to replace the balcony doors to double-glazed glass in order to reduce the noise pollution further. Despite all this we are happy to note that you were offered a quieter room which solved the noise issue.

Thank you for bringing these points to our attention, we strive to improve our guests experiences and where possible implement the necessary changes.

Check in time at 2pm is Standard in most European Hotels, with some hotels also having this at 3pm. However, we do allow guests to check in earlier than 2pm as soon as we confirm the rooms are available through Housekeeping.

We do apologize for any inconvenience caused and for not meeting your expectations in full during your recent visit. We do hope that given the chance, we can change your impression about the Luna Holiday Complex and should you ever wish to return, please do not hesitate to drop us a mail beforehand.

Warm regards,

On arrival it became evident there was a"problem" - our second booked room( paid for!) was not offered and it seemed we were expected to put the third person in the one room on a sofa bed.

This sorted we went to our room - we had specifically requested sea views - I hope the photographs appear to accompany this ! Nice views of water tanks/washing/rooftops - all virtually in touching distance.

The restaurant.......varnish peeling on window sills, bland decoration and no atmosphere and no management present AT ALL during our stay.

Breakfast was naturally a buffet, good choice although the coffee( machine made) and fruit juices( ditto) tasted strange.

Evenings meals were appalling - we noticed less and less guests were eating in - we managed two nights and not enjoying the taste or the choices then ate out every night , despite having paid for half board.Truly one of the worst hotel dining experiences i have experienced.

To add insult to injury, when ordering drinks to accompany our dinner, we signed for the drinks( naturally). On attempting to leave the restaurant at the end of our meal we were accosted by the bar manager whom informed us( in rather strong terms ) that we must either pay for the drinks or sign again....truly a bizzare experience.

Room Tip: Try the DB Seabank , more expensive but far far superior.

Dear binsybaby,

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. Your comments are very important to us and we appreciate your feedback.

We apologize for the reservations error on your arrival and we are pleased to know it was sorted straight away upon check in. Our reservations team strive hard to carefully input all the booking details correctly with each any every booking and also go through all the arrivals on a daily basis however on very odd occasions a detail can be overlooked. The hotel offers Sea views but since we are located one building block away from the seafront, these views may not be unobstructed.

Thank you for bringing to our attention the maintenance issues you note in the Buffet Restaurant. We have duly informed the Head of maintenance to take the appropriate action in this regard. We are sorry to hear that you did not feel management was present enough during your stay. We looked into this to ensure our managers and supervisors are more present during the operation.

Your comments regarding the evening meals are quite uncommon for our usual standards however please rest assured that we shall be looking into all the issues you have raised with our Food and Beverage manager with immediate effect.
We have meanwhile launched the new authentic Maltese dining experience at the Dining Room which has been a true hit with our guests and other patrons alike.

We hope that given another chance, we will be able to change your impression of the Luna Holiday Complex so should you ever consider returning please do not hesitate to drop us a mail for assistance.

Warm regards,

Kyle Borg
