This is a lovely hotel, reasonably priced. However.....

Once checked in, we arranged to meet at the pool bar. This was at 1900 and the pool bar was advertised open from 1600-2400. On finding the pool bar closed we went to the lobby bar which was also closed. We asked at reception and was advised that they would contact a colleague that would see us at the bar.

He arrived and told us to go back up to the pool bar and he would open it. We ordered 3 cocktails however they took over 20 mins to make.

We went out after this and there is loads nearby, food and drink.

The hotel is purely for older clientele and I would avoid if younger.

The rooms are very basic, hot, small and the air con does not work.

On a plus, after my worries of a continental breakfast I arrived at the dining room in the morning and there was plenty food. Hot and cold.

Nice clean cheap hotel but watch out if your expecting luxury

We stayed for a week with half pension. Think most of the rooms have a balcony. Ours not. We had a small room, too small for one week holiday. The bathroom was ok.
Breakfast was ok but we did not like the restaurant. Too small for a too big crowd. Often we had to sit with strangers on the same table and we realy value our privacy. Food in the evening was not our kind of food. Little taste. All the same flavour. We ate twice outside the hotel just to avoid having to go to the crowded restaurant. We had a room at the 6th floor and could not sleep because of the noice from the people in the pool bar. When they left, they all had to take the elevetor close to our room and they talked extremly loud, even past midnight. For us it wasn’t a pleasant stay but if food is not important and you want to lie at the beach all day then it will do. For us, having breakfast and diner in a cosy restaurant is a very big part of our vacation which we absolutly missed here.

This hotel was ok, the food was actually pretty decent, and had a good choice, although even water had to be purchased with evening meals despite the food being included. The room was rather dated and the bathroom was very small. Beds comfy, decent tv, and pool was quite nice. Close to the beach. The town itself was pretty quiet however the seafront is undergoing a massive makeover so by 2019 should be a much nicer front. Rooms let this hotel down a bit, need updating, but clean and no issues.

Just arrived home after 5 nights in Baia Monte Gordo, location was amazing all within a few mins walk. Best beaches stretching for miles of golden sand.Nice breakfast but was in basement was very dark and drab room. You also cannot get your room till 4pm which is a little late. Rooms very clean and cleaned every day with clean towles. BEWARE take euros with you as there is no bank or exchange places, lots of ATM machines but give you a terrible rate.

We have just returned after spending 10 nights at this hotel. We were a little apprehensive before arrival, as it was very inexpensive for the half board option, but the location was excellent. We were very pleasantly surprised, as it is a spotlessly clean hotel, with comfortable beds, and a high level of service. Joao (John) is the excellent manager, and all the staff, without exception, were totally friendly and helpful. I am involved in the food industry, and I thought the range and quality of food was more than adequate! I have to wonder at some negative reviews, and the people who write them? We had a car, but even without it, there were plenty of villages nearby, which could be easily accessed by taxi (very cheap), or walking. I would certainly return, and hope to do so again next Spring. Fantastic value for money!!

Room Tip: 4th, 5th and 6th floors, afford the best views, but are worth the small fee for the upgrade
