I left my heart at Freddino! Come for the gelato, stay for the great service, lovely ambiance, and quality product. They do the standard flavors exquisitely (you can't leave without trying the fior di bufala and the pistacchio!), but they also get experimental and offer interesting flavors that you won't find anywhere else (like the surprising combo of blood orange, hot pepper, and mint called Fantascienza). Don't forget to try the granita to cool off in the summer (my favorite is the papaya with a dollop of frozen yogurt on top!) Don't miss their occasional events with curious themes, like olive oil and gelato pairings, an evening featuring flavors made with vegetables, herbs, and even truffles, or boozy ice cream creations made with various liqueurs. Freddino is for the gelato connoisseur, and I'm happy that it has made its home in Forli!
