Amazing archeological museum with outstanding displays and an impressive outdoor ruins area.
The descriptions of the exhibits are first rate and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would not miss this hidden gem of a museum.

Apparently closed in the weekends, I couldn't get in but got a good peek anyways, I wasn't overwhelmed, only interesting for real history buffs :-)

Allow around 30-60 minutes to walk around these ruins. There are 17 or so dual-language information boards dotted around the site. Just 3-4 minutes uphill walk from the marina, this hidden gem provides the well preserved foundations of a 2,000 yr old site. The inner museum is currently closed for covid reasons, so the prices has been dropped to around €2 for adults. Our 5 yr old got in for free.

This museum gives good insight into how the Romans lived. The entrance fee is also not expensive, at 3 euros for adults and only 1.50 for pensioners.

Staying in Vilamoura so visited this little museum. Friendly staff at reception - nice place to spend a couple of hours admiring history and the museum artifacts.
