Very nice location. 5 mins from Lindos town by taxi and cheap to get in there. Room was clean and spacious. Had a premium sea view and the balcony was very pleasant.

Staff very friendly and courteous. Concierge able to book good seats in the local restaurants if you choose to eat out.

Food selection in main restaurant is very good and by large the quality was very good. Only other option was Blue Fin which was at extra charge and we only visited once as didn't see much benefit over the main restaurant except you were more secluded.

Lunch restaurants had two options. We preferred the Olivio one near pool as it felt cooler and had a good selection of food. Prices were a little high as you would expect but not outside of what you pay for a lunch in a restaurant or nice bar.

As others have said, beach is shingle which I was worried about but actually now prefer over sand tbh as it was much 'cleaner' with the sun cream and towels. Kept nice and clean. Loungers were comfy and the drink service to them was good. Location is great, access to sea is ok with a set of steps a little further in a jetty so you avoid a lot of stones. Sea was beautiful and clear.

Improvements:

Better wifi service on the beach. The reach of the wifi here was poor and some people like to check emails/sites etc and found could not do this until went back into the restaurant area.

More watersport options. I saw a couple of std 2 person kayaks but I would have liked to have done some long boarding on the bay when it was calm or the clear bottom kayaks to take advantage of the clear sea.

Gym/spa - Others have said it but the spa didn't look amazing and didn't appeal to us to try. The Gym is connected so we were advised it only opened at 10am which is of no use if you want an early morning session before starting the day proper. Should be open early.

Overall I would certainly consider returning here when visiting Rhodes in future.

Many, many things to praise here, but potential for improvement...

Location - amazing: secluded, peaceful, beautiful surroundings.
Staff - very efficient: pleasant and not over-friendly. Resourceful and accommodating.
Room service - excellent
Room maid service - brilliant
Room (we were upgraded to a suite) - spacious, spotless, loads of storage, comfy. Very efficient air con/temperature control
Bathroom - superb.. except for no lighting around the mirror. Odd.. and very inconvenient!
Private pool areas: need overhead fans. Too hot even in shade to sit out near pool.
Spa facilities - least successful part of the hotel by far, and really needs developing. Not 5-star level. Stark lighting, same piece of music on a constant loop, no heath questionnaire.. and just not luxurious or relaxing in the feel of the surroundings compared with other spas.
Entertainment - excellent musicians. But a pity no traditional Greek music offered.
Pools - very good
Beach - shingle only, but pleasant and well managed. Need bigger umbrellas as they only shade one of each pair of sunbeds!
Restaurants - quite good food. Varied breakfast buffet, though not enough fresh fruit or healthy options. Very little snack options in the hotel outside of the meal sittings. Blue Fin the only restaurant suitable for a romantic dinner.. good, but expensive for us to use more than once. Lindos restaurants (tried many roof top ones) are fantastic for views and they serve Greek standards. Hard to find a really exceptional one though.

This was our third visit to Aquagrand. We stayed for 10 nights at the beginning of September, and it was a real wrench to leave when it was time to go home. The hotel and its staff are so welcoming, it is just like visiting friends and family! Having said that, we noticed quite a few staff changes, but lots we recognised from previous years. We stayed in a sea front room, ideally located for the beach bar and restaurant. The room was extremely comfortable and kept spotlessly clean. Standards really are high at this hotel, as all areas are very clean and well tended. The food in the buffet restaurant is of a good standard, with plenty of choice to suit most tastes. We stayed on a half board basis, and ate lunch daily in the Sensia restaurant, which is the perfect place to rest in the shade whilst sampling the local dishes! I’m afraid if you have any sort of mobility issues, you may struggle a bit as the hotel is quite isolated, being situated between Lindos village and Pefkos. Lindos you can reach easily on foot if you are fit and able, but Pefkos not so. As mentioned in other reviews taxis are readily available and do a roaring trade. Some of the rooms are quite a way from reception and the main buffet restaurant, so, again for this who are not so good on their legs, it could be an issue. The hotel grounds are beautiful, and perfect for a leisurely stroll after dinner. The beach is amazing. Yes, it’s pebbly but you just need to wear swim shoes. The sea is perfect for snorkelling, and there are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas, spaced well apart for privacy. The staff are excellent, and are extremely professional. We sensed there had been a degree of retraining, and in the main Pentapolis restaurant noticed the waiting staff were particularly attentive. Having said that, as we got further into our stay and the hotel got busier, we did have a couple of issues with ordering drinks at dinner, but nothing major. We enjoy a bottle of wine and water with our evening meal, but like to drink at our own pace. We are not keen at having our glasses refilled for us, but there seems to be a new hotel policy whereby it’s frowned upon to help yourself to wine and water. (My husband managed to upset one of the waiters on a couple of evenings by pouring our drinks.) We laughed it off, but on our last evening left at least two servings of wine in the bottle as we had finished eating without our glasses being replenished. This is not a criticism, merely an observation. We thoroughly recommend this hotel, and will definitely return. If you are in need of a relaxing break to recharge your batteries or set yourself up for the winter ahead, then this is the place to be. Thank you all at AquaGrand for another amazing holiday.

I have just returned from a week at the Aquagrand. This is without a doubt the best hotel that i have ever stayed in. This is the perfect place to stay if you would like a relaxing break. Two things come to mind when I think of this hotel. Firstly, the first class service and secondly the cleanliness. The food is also excellent with lots of choice at the main buffet, which is different every day. After dinner you can sit in the lounge bar and relax or if you feel energetic, walk 30 minutes to Lindos. This hotel is clearly not for anyone who wants nightclubs and bars nearby, but if you want them, Lindos is there for you. This is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Every single person working in the hotel is extremely friendly and cannot do enough to help you make this the best possible experience ever. People who I would particularly like to mention as being exceptionally good at their job and so kind are Aris and Vasiliki in the restaurant over the bridge ( so, so friendly and efficient) Andros the beach guy, who does not stop still for a second always trying to help. Jessica in guest relations, Stavros who offered to help with luggage without me asking and Sotiria who brought breakfast to our room every day. (Another unusual bonus is that you can have a Greek breakfast of pastries, toast, fruit juice and tea or coffee in your room at no extra charge.)
There are two lovely pools if you do not want to relax on the beach. Comfortable beach beds and plenty of beach umbrellas. There is also a beautiful little chapel and amphitheatre where you can get married if you so wish.
The weather here in Mid September is still very hot and humid and the sunshine continues into October so I was advised.
My week at the Aquagrand was just what I needed......and just what I need again as soon as possible. Thank you Aquagrand. Dont change a thing.

Room tip: All rooms are excellent. Princess rooms overlooking the beach are lovely,

This is our second visit to the AquaGrand and, after our first, we didn't think it could get better, but it did.

My wife and I had decided to go back to the hotel to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary and, even though we were on a half-board basis, we wanted to eat out at one of the restaurants in nearby Lindos and so we asked Guest Services if a restaurant we had been told about still had a good name. Despina came back to us almost immediately and gave the place a great review and we booked it for our anniversary dinner.

Unfortunately things didn't go to plan but not because of any fault of the hotel it was, in fact the airline as our plane had a fuel leak while on the ground at London Gatwick which meant we had a departure delay of about 10 hours, which meant we arrived at the hotel at around 02.00 instead of 15.00. I had kept the hotel aware of our lengthy delay by emailing my contact, Despina, so everything was OK on that front.

When we arrived at the hotel we were met and registered very quickly as the chap on the desk understood our position and suggested that we could run through tings in the morning but now going to our room was more important - very understanding. We were taken to our room by the night porter on the back of a golf cart and he explained everything we needed to know about our room, where everything was and how everything works, air conditioning, safe, etc but then, to our surprise he drew back our curtains and said " and of course out here is your private splash pool..", what? We were amazed. The hotel had upgraded us. We don't know if it was because we were return guests, or because it was our wedding anniversary, or if it was because of the horrendous journey we had undertaken, or if it was a combination of all three, but it was marvellous of them.

On speaking to Despina the next day and thanking her for what she had done she explained that the prime purpose of every employee of the hotel is to ensure the guest is happy and they are having a wonderful time and this was evident throughout our stay. Whoever we came into contact with from the hotel they were helpful, pleasant, courteous, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Whoever trains them deserves a big pat on the back.

The above was no more evident than in our room, it was cleaned to perfection every day, all things used were replaced appropriately and the maid, Anthoula was often around to make sure everything was in order. This may sound strange and is something you would expect of a 5* hotel, it is, but I have stayed in many 5* hotels around the world and these little, personal touches are so very often missed, not at the AquaGrand.

The rooms are very clean and tidy, spacious with sufficient draw, shelves and wardrobe space.

As they have two communal pools (one being over 50 meters across) and two further smaller private pools for a few, about 7, apartments, along with having a wonderful beach area (not the beach itself as that is shingle which is not to everyones tase, but they have positioned boardwalks throughout the area so you can move between your sun bed another ares quite easily) and then having so many rooms with their own splash pools there is more than enough space so no one area is ever crowded. As an example it is one of the only hotels I have ever stayed in were you could come down to the main pool at any time of the day and still be able to find vacant sun beds. As there are sufficient for everyone nobody gets up early and saves them by placing towels on them, you just take which ones you want when you arrive. Brilliant

We were staying on a half-board basis so breakfast and evening dinner were included. At both the choice was extensive, excellent quality, and with changes at least every evening. The service in the restaurant was as elsewhere around the hotel, always quick, always delivered with a smile and never too much trouble.

If there was one piece of constructive criticism I could offer it would be for the hotel to review its policy regarding guests on half-board not taking their evening meal and the offer they make towards taking lunch instead. The hotel says that if do not want your evening meal you can have lunch at our Italian restaurant (nowhere else, why?) and we will give you a 20% discount off your meal (food only, it does not include drinks). This sounds oK until you realise at lunch time the average price my wife and I were paying for our food was roughly €25 to €30 so with a 20% discount were given about €5 to €6 off the bill however when looking on the hotels website, and depending on which room you choose, the cost of taking the half-board option rather than B&B is about €70 more expensive per room. There seems to be quite a large discrepancy between paying an extra €70 for the half-board basis but then only receiving about €6 as a discount for taking lunch instead of dinner. I am not asking for a lot but I am suggesting that other hotels manage this situation in a much more agreeable way by offering a set amount - as an example some say "if you don't take your dinner you are given a voucher for €15 to use on food and drink at any of our lunchtime restaurants" - maybe something for the hotel to consider

Having said all that did my wife and I enjoy our stay ay the AquaGrand? Absolutely.

Will we return to the AquaGrand? Absolutely

And when we do we hope that Despina, Jessica and Anthoula are still there. or many others like them as, although the place is wonderful, the staff make it so, so special. Thank you AquaGrand

Dear Jon H,

Thank you very much for this wonderful and detailed review.

We are delighted that you enjoyed our hotel’s services and appreciated our hospitality. A feedback like this is highly motivating for our team as we strive every year to improve ourselves and our services.
Regarding the policy for dinner and lunch, there are two restaurants for lunchtime and guests who have booked HB basis may have lunch instead of dinner with a 20% discount, as the main restaurant is a buffet and the 2 restaurants are à la carte.

We thank you once more for your kind words and we look forward to welcome you back for another memorable stay.

Kind Regards,
Your Aquagrand Team
