“Excellent, superb home from home”
Reviewed 10 February 2016 for a stay in January 2016

My friend booked this as a surprise for her husband's 50th birthday, group of 8 stayed for the weekend. Me and my husband arrived early to prepare for the birthday boy arriving and was given tel for the owner to phone when we were near. Met at the house no problems and instantly the "WOW" factor is apparent. Owner briefly showed us how everything worked and told us not to hesitate if we had any probs as he lived fairly nearby. Every room has "something about it". kitchen is beautiful and VERY well equipped, leads to a sitting/dining area with a log burner which was fantastic, this in turn leads to a huge, bright south facing sitting/entertainment room with an upstairs balcony leading from one of the twin rooms (doors do close to the bedroom). Exceptional views out to sea from every angle.
Bedrooms, 2 twin and 2 double, master double is beautiful with a huge on suite, downstairs double is next to the toilet and shower so perfect. one twin with on suite and the other with a balcony so every bedroom has something. All spotlessly clean and very modern but still manages to be quaint. Utility room with washing machine for longer stays. took taxis to Montrose for dinner one night but in the welcome book there are details of a chef who will come to the house and cook for a dinner party (ask owner about this when you book as we wished we had known, very reasonably priced too) Just a superb home that cannot be faulted at all. Would definitely go back. Location is quite secluded but we had to use the cars to drive to go for a beach walk etc as busy main road (think it's the A92) between the house and the beach. Close enough to Montrose, etc for taxis though.

Stayed at Lilybank for a long weekend with husband and friends and we all loved it! The house itself is spotless and everything feels new. Amazing views!! Plenty local towns, quaint fishing villages and beaches nearby, as well as Dunnottar Castle just a 20 minute drive away. The owners, Rosie and her husband were lovely, welcoming and helpful. Would visit again in a second!
