“Excellent base for touring the West of Ireland”

I stayed at Lavins house, Balla with my husband and 4 children for a long weekend over Easter. It was the perfect base for visiting Galway, Roscommon and Mayo. The children had fun watching the new lambs in the field next door and playing football in the sizeable garden. We look forward to a return visit!

“Great house great location”
Reviewed 23 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We stayed with our three young boys for 3 nights. The house was spotlessly clean and a brilliant size. Lovely setting with sheep in the field next door, great base for sightseeing. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

“A lovely house in a great central location. Walking distance to traditional town with bars, music and grocery shops.”

Lavins House Balla is a great place to stay. A clean, well equipped house with four double bedrooms, large dining room which could comfortably seat 10, and a nice sitting room.

You can safely walk into town crossing 2 stone stiles and field fronting the lovely church and graveyard. Adjoining the church is a very good children's play area, games area and tennis court. The Rendezvous Bar in town is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The Balla Round Tower is the start of the Croagh Patrick Trail, a 61km walk to Murrisk. We walked approx 3km to Brownhall mainly across fields and a little on safe roads following good signage.

We had a fabulous time in Balla, which offers more than you would expect, and is also a great central location for touring.
