Comfortable, clean, well equipped accomodation within easy reach of Keswick by car or on foot. A perfect place from which to explore the beautiful Lake District.

“Fantastic little apartment”
Reviewed 5 June 2017 for a stay in May 2017

What a truly wonderful little apartment, the owners Kev and Jen have thought of everything you would need and it was selflessly clean too. We did not use our car once whilst staying here, it is located perfectly for all your needs, close enough to Keswick but without the worry of needing to find a parking space as it only takes 15-20 minutes to walk. We were very lucky to have lovely weather also. Will definitely be going back and will recommend to friends and family. Thank you once again Kev and Jen

“Lovely Apartment & perfect for two people!”

Portinscale is at the north end of Lake Derwentwater, with the Marina a short walk away, and there is a local pub. Keswick is nearby with all local amenities, and is about a mile away, or it is possible to walk there. We stayed for a week, and found it very comfortable, in a quiet area, and we had everything we needed. The apartment is on the ground floor, with a space for 1 car just outside the door. On first arrival a tray had been left with enough coffee, tea, plus a pint of milk, and a snack bar each, which was very welcome after our long journey. The modern kitchen is very well equipped, with an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine and microwave. There is a sitting area with two comfy chairs, a TV, and a small dining table and two chairs. The modern bathroom had a lovely shower with a good sized shower tray, a basin with mirror above, and toilet. We brought our own towels, as they were not supplied, although there was a kitchen hand towel, and all cleaning facilities were available. It was a very good base for exploring the area. We enjoyed the walk up Catbells where there was a wonderful view, and also recommend Ashness Bridge and Surprise View. Castle Rigg Stone Circle was also very interesting. We look forward to staying there again!

A lovely apartment , really well thought out and well appointed. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A welcome folder not only gave us everything we needed to know for the apartment, but suggested walls and mountain routes. Portinscale proved to be an ideal location enabling us to walk from the village on two days. We would happily stay again.

“Fantastic property, great location”
Reviewed 26 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Fantastic accommodation and location. Helpful welcome pack including all the information we needed and a well received chocolate bar and milk for a hot drink after a long journey. Thank you! Apartment was spotless and had everything we needed for a long weekend stay. Very comfortable bed was well received after long days fell walking. Living room and kitchen were modern and well presented. Bathroom has recently been refurbished and was gleaming. Location was brilliant with a 20 minute stroll along a well kept footpath to Keswick. 2 minute walk to the marina area of Derwent Water. Overall a great location for Lake District activities and walks. Great accommodation and would highly recommend it.
