We have just got back from a weeks holiday. Gite is fantastic and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Our 3 kids loved the pool and the games barn was a great addition. We wanted a relaxing week away which we certainly had. Linda and Eric are on hand should you need anything and have given alot of thought, care and attention in to making our stay fantastic. Thank you
Just back from visit number 4.... this place is absolutely superb. The Gite itself is immaculate and has everything you could possible want inside as well as out. Since we were last there LInda and Eric (who are the perfect very discrete hosts... ) have built a canopied seating area next to the pool and created a very handy garden room with a few comfy chairs in so you can escape the sun or rain but still enjoy the garden.. whilst cooking on the BBQ. . The surroundings are so peaceful you simply can't hear anything apart from birdsong... idyllic. Can't wait until next year.
I travelled to Guimondiere with my husband, 3 year old son Arthur and 6 month old son William. The gite is in a beautiful spot and is very clean and well equipped including a travel cot with a proper thick mattress and a baby bath which left us with loads of room in the car to bring wine home on the return trip! The fact there is all the english TV channels is a amazing bonus with a toddler (for them and to endure the early mornings!) as well as the DVD player. Linda and Eric were very welcoming and even though they were just next door you barely knew they were there, it really feels like your own little bit of paradise while you are there. The pool is fab and warm enough for children although I would recommend wetsuit/swim suits if you want them to spend an extended time in there. There is also an amazing man made beach about 20 mins drive away at Sille-le-Guilliame which is excellent for children and has a nice pizza restaurant, creperie, pedalos etc. and even more when you go in peak season. We went to some local markets and enjoyed a drink in the squares when we went there. We had a wonderful time and can't recommend it enough!
This was one of the best properties that we have stayed in.
You could tell that it had been built originally for the owners to live in as it was extremely well finished and full of character. For us (Mum, Dad and two teenage kids), the location worked ideally - secluded but not isolated, with everything you need on hand or nearby.
The house itself is well appointed, with a cool lounge and kitchen to get away from the heat outdoors and very comfortable bedrooms. The games barn, outdoor tennis & badminton nets and, of course, the swimming pool kept us occupied with our own family mini olympics on the days when the weather was at its best.
When it wasn't, then there was plenty to see in the local area, the highlights being St Ceneri, the walled town of Ste Suzanne and a long walk around the countryside of St Georges le Gaultier. St Ceneri in the evening with the church, chapel and river lit up was worthy of more than a few photos.
The owners were very welcoming and a source of useful local info, yet discreet enough to let you get on with your holiday without imposing.
Definitely on the short list for a return trip at some point.
