New owners who are fantastic hosts, ignore the old reviews

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Jul 2016
Katie and Bertrand took this over about a year ago and have made this into a great choice for an overnight or few days' stay. Room 2 has long balcony at rear and space for outside evening drinks etc. Katie cooks home style which is better than most restaurants and just 18€ for three courses by reservation. Location on northern edge of town on road to Grenoble and stunning drive to some of the best views in Alps near Col de Galibier towards Valloise. Owners making many improvements and very keen to make the stay enjoyable nod comfortable. There is a hot tub and sauna available for guests and a good restaurant area for breakfast (8€) and evening meals. Please ignore any older reviews as they do not now apply. Good luck Katie and thanks to Bertrand for the lift to the station to get our hire car in Gap! John and Christine

Room Tip: Room 2 was probably best location but shower needs fixing on holder. Plenty of hot water at all...

Stayed there for one night with a group of five people on our cycling holiday in the French Alpes. The rooms under the room ar tiny a the last renovation was perhaps 20 years ago. Because of the lack of space there was not even a door between the sleeping space for 3 people and the shower/toilett. 90 Euro for 3 people and a crappy breakfast for 7 Euros each is ok but we were happy to leave the place the next morning. The hotel is next to the main road from Briancon to Col de Galabier and the trafic is enormous.
In the breakfast room was a picture showing the 2011 Tour de France winner Cedal Evans with the otherwise nice and friendly owner of Auberge de l`Impossible.

Do not even think about staying at this hotel. The owner is a vile rude crooked man,
We stayed one night , had to book out no heating no hot water, paid by credit card the owner took out for six nights.
Spent next year trying to get money back from credit card company.
Avoid at all costs

Stayed here with 2 freinds on a boarding winter trip. The owners believe totaly that the customer isnt king at all, but the owners are. This was demonstrated when asking how far from the ski lifts we were and weather extra pillows were avaiable. The owners mocked us verbally the next day, we found out the hotel is approx 2 miles from the lifts and no pillows were offered as "we already had pillows". Dont stay here, you dont need the hassle. We avioded the owners for the next 3 days.

Stayed here while on motorcycle trip through the Alps. Really friendly welcome. Parking. Breakfast available (for extra charge). Clean comfortable rooms with shower. Affordable. Only downside is it's a little out of town, but it's still walkable.
