Characterful hotel in a great location

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Sept 2023via mobile
Beautiful, characterful hotel in a great location in a quiet pedestrianised street near bars and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful owner. Really comfortable and stylish rooms with lots of characterful Alpine touches. Great that room had two armchairs and a kettle for making tea. Really enjoyed our stay.

Bad customer service.
Due to the fact that one of the guests is in the icu for covid we had to cancel our reservation. We already paid 3000 and more euros and the person on the phone (apperently a manager) didnt even let us talk, he was only repeating that we didnt comunicate anything before hand, thing that we did via booking.
Apart from the economical loss and and the lack of empathy from the personal, we had to feel sorry for the hotel because they were not able to rent out the apartment even though it was already fully paid.
Shame on you

A discrete hotel strategically located between the high and low town. My room was large well and nicely equipped and comfortable and would have been maybe even better than the 3stars level if it weren't for this extra bed taking most of the available free space and leaving only a very narrow passage around the bed, What a strange and bad idea!. Large and modern bathroom. Indifferent front desk.

We stayed in the 'Apartment with mountain views' which was not in the hotel as we thought but about two minutes walk away. For us this wasn't a problem as the apartment was superb and had a lovely charmed feel about it. We loved the character of the place: the wooden ceilings and floors; the soft lighting and tasteful furniture and fittings throughout. Close proximity to the ski lift (7/8 minutes walk) and restaurants for us was also a real bonus. We had a very comfortable stay and would certainly recommend the apartment to others.

Room tip: The apartment with mountain views is a two minute walk away from the hotel. It's well back from the main road so very quiet.

We spent only a single evening here, as we were taking a day trip away from Le Bourg-d'Oisans. It was the only hotel we tried and it was perfect for us. We stayed in the top apartment - the Loft. We loved having the roofline windows opened to the Alpine air and all the photos and ski memorabilia in the room and in reception and dining as well.
Just a very comfortable place for us!
It could very well be too "busy" with knick knacks etc for some, but we loved it.
Breakfast was typically French - coffee, a lot of white bread, cornflakes, salami. you could boil an egg if you liked. The French are simply indifferent to breakfast.
We had dinner there our first night and the gazpacho was one of the best we've had! A dish I would certainly recommend.

Room tip: We only experienced the top most room, however I would imagine all the rooms exhibit the same charm.

This is a charming, small hotel with a real mountain atmosphere. The room was large, the beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The breakfast was nice, with a variety of choices. The people who own it are not unfriendly but not particularly welcoming either so if you are looking for somewhere more conversational this might not be it, although maybe that was just our poor French.
