A ski weekend with friends

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 20 Mar 2016
A wonderful family run hotel, lovely rooms with character rather like the whole hotel. The dining room was charming and the bar/reception was full of wooden animals and pens and all sorts of hand made mountain things. The food was great and very imaginary with lovely service from all the family.
They have run the hotel since 1892 and are the 5th generation to do so.
Secure parking and we did half board for EUR75 per person per night so how good value is that!!!!!
We will definitely go there again.
Date of stay: March 2016
Room Tip: Rooms 14 and 8 where we stayed were great.

we really liked the hotel. We were traveling with children and the staff was very child friendly, the room was comfortable and cosy. We had a great meal at the restaurant at night and the brakfast was excellent!

We stayed here overnight as part of a 3 week road trip. We booked because of the appearance of the rooms in the style of wood clad alpine chalet rooms. We have to say we loved the room. It was comfortable, tastefully themed and well equipped. We make it a general rule not to eat in the hotel restaurants but go and explore however when we saw what was on offer in the hotel restaurant we ate there. We had a lovely raclette, highly recommended. The restaurant follows the wooden alpine theme. The breakfast was varied and plentiful, very worthwhile. We had a great stay and will not hesitate to return to this hotel if back in Briancon, highly recommended.

Comfortable, clean & welcoming lodgings situated in central position in Briancon. Close to bus transport around town, which was important for us as we did not have a car. Friendly staff, good wifi cover . Small balcony and good views to mts .

Room tip: No lift. Ask for ground floor if climbing stairs is a problem for you. But you may miss views to mts.

We spent two nights in this well-run family hotel. Our room was well equipped, with the bathtub we had asked for. The bathroom was functional and visually pleasing with a mix of Italian tiles and old wood. The room was fine, although the third bed made it a bit cramped. The bed was comfortable enough but would be much better if iit had two duvets, instead of the one big blanket. The pillow in the bed was this hideous French invention, "traversin", but luckily enough we found two normal pillows in the cupboard. The wifi was adequate and the closed parking was located just around the corner. Breakfast was standard but good, with homemade jams. The hotel restaurant seemed to be popular in the evenings but we did not dine there.
