Briancon, Serre Chevalier family ski trip

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Jan 2020
We’ve had a lovely stay at hotel mont brison. The hotel is close to the ski shops and lifts and has everything you need. The rooms are warm and well set up. I don’t know what people expect at this price (there are some negative reviews) we were pleasantly surprised. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great value.

I can honestly say this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, not because of the stuffy rooms or the questionable balcony or the smell or the fact that they think an open garage is a safe place for an expensive bike because ‘it has a camera ‘

It’s non of them , it was the rude , aggressive , confrontational staff.

Has anyone reading this ever been told they had to apologies to the receptionist in order to stay at the hotel ? For making a complaint about the security of the ‘bike room ‘ because that what happend to me.

Ohh he also said he wanted my passport and he was going to call the police for taking this photo.

Honestly, you are one of the worst customers we have ever had. First, the rooms are completely redone, and it was 15 ° C in the evening. You took pictures of the other bikes in your group and we told you to stop and get up because the other guests thought you were homeless. The bikes were in a locked garage inside the hotel and validated by your manager. Yes, we asked you to leave, to change hotels because we did not want you to stay 2 days in conditions that were supposedly impossible for you. And since there was accommodation in the other hotels where the group had rooms .... but you preferred to apologize for your behavior rather than change ... Why so? This shows once again your personality ...

Service at the reception was harsh and French skills required. The building is a bit rundown except the recently renovated rooms. Room size is fine for single person. The so called balcony of the room is in poor shape and faced towards the unpleasant inner court parking area. Note to cyclists. The bicycles are kept in the garage which is not very practical to access and not particularly secure.

All staff speak English. We have renovated all the rooms and now we are starting facades and balconies. As for the bike garage, in the hotel's secure car park, it is locked and open for every guest request.

Correct hotel, nice treatment of the owners, very quite and tranquile site in the most central place of the city.
Parking inside if required. We will repeat with no doubt and is already in our private agenda.

It’s a shame the rooms are that poor when the staff are so lovely. The rooms are that hot you have to sleep with the door open with -13 degrees blaring in there’s no inbetween. The walls are paper thin, and need modification

The hotel is clearly in an older building but various renovations still make it OK. The room despite being very small was adequate and quiet. The bathroom had been recently renovated and was very nice. There was a nice view from the window on the surrounding mountains. There was wifi in the room. Parking might be a problem but there was room in an inside courtyard. Breakfast was simple but OK. Very nice and helpful staff. The hotel is about 500 m (uphill !) from the Old fortified City
