Old charm

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 20 May 2018via mobile
Stayed for 1 night. The room was clean and warm was a little taken back by carpet in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely dinner with a great view of the Loch.
The room came with breakfast and the variety was varied

We visited on an Itison deal with our dogs. The staff were very friendly and made a fuss of our dogs constantly. The room was spacious and had fantastic views up and down the Loch. The breakfast was very nice and cooked fresh to order, they were more than happy to make up a breakfast for my wife cooked exactly to her requirements. The only suggestion I would make to the hotel is to expand the continental buffet selection. We paid for and extra night we enjoyed it so much. We'll definitely be back!!

Booked through an Itison deal as a last minute getaway , well worth the visit. Located on the Roseneath peninsula just outside Helensburgh just over an hour from Glasgow , the views from hotel are stunning. A large country mansion facing the sea, renovated bar and restaurant area, but overall work in progress with quite old fashioned decor, but clear to see the original grandeur. We were lucky and allocated room 2 which was very large and had stunning views over the gardens to the sea beyond., However My brother and sister in law who was travelling with us was allocated room 6 which very an extremely small attic bedroom. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and a central lounge area with a real open fire was lovely to sit at , whilst enjoying a few drinks. The menu for evening meals are resonabily priced around £9 for a main course, breakfast was pretty basic with limited continental choice, and a little chaotic with lack of cereal bowls and lack of glasses for the fruit juice, however the full cooked breakfast was plentiful. Local village has a friendly pub with great music choices and open fire. Overall we all enjoyed our stay and would return

My husband, my sister, brother in law and me stayed in the Kilcreggan hotel for one night B & B. We stay 10th March and could not fault this hotel in anyway. It is a beautiful building with bags of character. The owners Brian his sister Jane are so friendly and welcoming and could not do enough for us. We were there celebrating my sister and brother in laws 36th Wedding Anniversary and Brian and Jane sent a complimentary bottle of bubbly to our table, it truly was a lovely touch. The food was amazing. I had cheesy mushrooms to start and salmon for my main course. Both were really tasty and plentiful. The rest of my party said their food was also amazing. We will definitely be back, if you get the chance don’t miss the Kilcreggan, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Well done to Brian, Jane and all their lovely staff.

Have just come back from a Myhotel break overnight stay. Although in need of some renovation this is a beautiful building, the most outstanding feature being the many stained glass windows. Our room, number 7, was spacious, comfortable, full of character and had a wonderful view. The staff who dealt with us were exceptional.

However, compared with other Myhotelbreaks we have been on the food was disappointing.
The table d' hote menu consisted of bar food, which would not have been a problem had it been good bar food. We could not complain about quantity but the food was extremely stodgy and half of it at least was left on our plates. Fortunately we were able to finish our wine in front of an open fire in the bar.
We were also surprised that Sunday checkout time was 10.30 instead of 11 am in most Scottish hotels. We were told that was because the cleaners came in at 10.00 am, something which I would have thought could be altered in the interests of paying customers
