“Perfect house and location for a large group holiday with family or friends”
Reviewed 21 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Stayed in this lovely house at Easter with two other families, 6 adults, 7 children in total. We would happily recommend both Crowborough Farm and North Devon as a great place for large families or groups of friends to get together.

In the farmhouse there was plenty of living space for all. The layout downstairs was perfect, open and sociable with plenty of space in the well equipped kitchen allowing cooks and non-cooks to keep company without getting crowded. Bedrooms are spacious and airy with the bathrooms nicely appointed. The master suite is huge! With a couple of extra beds and mattresses available we were also able to juggle childrens' sleeping arrangements to match the different child age groups into separate rooms. The utility room was useful to keep bikes safe and air damp coats and boots. This also had a second fridge, useful for chilling drinks etc.

We enjoyed exploring the area at the back of the farmhouse. Plenty of good hiding places for an Easter Trail and also wild and dark enough to try out a night-time 'wide-game'. The tree house, quarry area and stream were fun for the children although you would need to keep an eye out for younger children here.

Croyde is a few minutes drive away so trips to the beach were simple. One day we parked at Baggy Point (NT) and walked to Putsborough Sands along the craggy cliff path, finishing off on the beach building sandcastles and watching surfers. Braunton is 10 minutes drive where we hired some extra bikes from Otter Cycle Hire and cycled the Tarka Trail out to Bideford and back (30 miles of traffic free, almost flat, cycle path). Good refreshments and a playground at Fremington Quay. On the rainy day we drove out through Ilfracombe to Watermouth Castle -- quite a unique visitor attraction but all children had a great time (ages 3-12).

“Absolutely perfect for a family holiday!”
Reviewed 23 January 2016 for a stay in August 2014

My family and I had an absolutely wonderful time at Crowborough Farm - we were a family group of 12 (including four under-10s) and the house was just perfect for our needs. Spacious whilst also being cosy, modern whilst also feeling soulful and homely. Suzanne was great to deal with, extremely helpful from beginning to end. Photos definitely don't do this place justice!

Highlights include:
- Huge, well equipped kitchen that can easily handle industrial scale meal preparation required for large families!
- Lovely long wooden dining table - perfect for gathering all the family together
- Great floor-to-ceiling library of books - fiction, politics, history, travel, cookery - something for everyone
- Lots of light and space
- Sheer number of bedrooms!
- Beautiful artwork all around
- So many great beaches just a short drive away

We'd definitely love to stay at this property again, and would recommend it to others.

“comfortable, spacious house in good location ideal for mixed group with young children”
Reviewed 7 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Enjoyed a week over New Year in this lovely house with family and friends, aged 5 weeks to mid 60s. Planned a seven course taster menu for New Year's Eve and there was both space and equipment to enable this delicious dinner to be cooked and served by a variety of chefs. The rooms were furnished with taste, with a homeliness that made settling in quick and easy. The two local pubs within walking distance were welcoming, offering good beers and food. The beach and coast path were within walking distance and despite some unfavourable weather, provided beautiful scenery and a breath of fresh air.

“Huge farmhouse- fantastic living space”
Reviewed 3 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We rented the farmhouse and the cottage for a family Christmas and had a brilliant time. The kitchen/ dining space/ lounge was a great place for the all of us to spend time together and the location was perfect for wind blown beach walks and coastal path treks. The downstairs wet room was heavily used by those stupid enough to venture into the December surf, and the dogs had the run of the fields.

“AMAZING HOLIDAY IN GREAT HOUSE AND FANTASTIC LOCATION”
Reviewed 30 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

11 of us and our dog stayed here for a week in August. We loved loved loved the house- living areas very sociable , kitchen well equipped and bedrooms comfortable. Kiss loved the garden, outside spaces and especially feeding the pigs! Location was amazing - so many beaches on your doorstop and house wet room /utility perfectly set up for coming home after days out at the beach. Art work makes the house and it still feels very homely.
