We arrived for our weeks stay to be greeted by the friendly owners who had left a cream tea for us to enjoy. The property is in the small village of Downderry near Looe. We specifically chose this property because I have limited mobility. It is all on a level except for one step onto the decking area. The standard to which this compact 1 bedroom property has been furnished is excellent. It is well planned out making good use of all available space. Everything you need to enjoy a self catering holiday has been provided. The outside area is a lovely south facing spot for al fresco dining or just relaxing with an unusual eye shaped feature in the fence which gives you a sea view from this enclosed garden. We were able to park on the road right outside the gated entrance to the garden. It is a short walk to the village however as a part timer wheel chair user my poor husband only attempted this once as the walk back is uphill & quite steep!! After that we just drove down & parked at the bottom of the hill. This was our first visit to this part of Cornwall & there is plenty to see & do here. We would highly recommend the beach cafe at Seaton just a 5 min drive away for lunch or an early evening meal. We will definitely be revisiting the Garden Retreat again as we thoroughly enjoyed our week there & the owners, who live next door, made us very welcome.
