“Really lovely week at the Moohey.”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Mary and Pat were wonderful hosts. The Moohey is a very comfortable converted barn that was spotless on arrival. It was a perfect place to relax and within five minutes of an elevated view over the sea. Very quiet with fields around to explore.

Downderry and Seaton are both a short drive away (or a short but steep walk). Both have good places to eat. The Copley Arms pub at Hessenford is also good and can be combined with a walk from Seaton through a countryside park.

Would certainly return and recommend.

“Immaculate property in a very quiet rural setting”
Reviewed 13 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Nestled in farmland a short distance from the coast, this is a beautifully open and spacious property that made an ideal home for a relaxing week in Cornwall. The village of Downderry on the coast is only half a mile away (down a very steep lane that makes for a stiff walk on a hot day), but at the cottage you really feel away from it all. There's good walking in the surrounding fields, and plenty of options for food a short drive away in Looe and closer at hand (the Copley Arms serves good standard pub food). Highly recommended if you're looking for a secluded base to explore the south-east of Cornwall.

“amazing place, Perfect!”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We have just returned from a week family holiday at The Moohey and had the perfect week and luckily Perfect weather!

The location of the house is great and a good mid point between Looe/Polperro to the west and the beautiful beaches of Whitsands to the East. The roads up to the house are quite steep and so best to either be fit and able or have the car. on arrival, Pat was very helpful in making the kids bedrooms a bit darker like at home so they slept great as did we! Kitchen is well set out with lots of storage and allows to keep an eye on the little ones. The House itself is better than the pictures with a huge open plan space perfect for a young family. Mary, Pat and the boys are a lovely family who offered help and recomendations when needed without being intrusive. My 3 year old daughter loved playing with Euwan in the garden and he was fantastic with our 20 month old boy.

We did some cycling which was tough/hilly but cycling down the whitsands coast rd was simply breathtaking. We would also recommend the Whitsands beaches as they are beautiful and sandy. The Cliff Top Cafe is a welcome pit stop on the way back up the cliff!

Best villages are Polperro, Looe and Cawsands all very pretty and the boat ride to Polperro was great. Eating you must try the coddy shack and Sarahs pastys in looe!

Thanks to The Moohey for a great week and we hope we will be back again!

“Absolutely totally fabulous holiday home!”

We stayed at The Moohey with extended family (which included a 16 month old baby). Mary and Pat have to be the best hosts anyone could ask for. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they are a genuinely lovely family. The place is so inviting - spotlessly clean, spacious, homely, light and airy - just totally fabulous! A car is essential but there is amble parking at The Moohey so don't worry if you need to park more than two cars. We moved beds around to suit our needs so baby could have his own room and is worked like a dream. As a family we take away many happy memories. Thank you Mary and Pat for helping make that happen!

Liked best: The peaceful, idyllic setting of the Moohey.
Liked least: The hill down to Downderry was a shock the first time we walked it - but you get used to it and the views are worth it!
