This tomb is characteristic for the French influenced architecture and ornaments. Facades, ceilings, canopy, everything is elaborately decorated. This is because the emperor studied in France and loved the culture. A dragon is painted on the ceiling. We see the influences by Chinese as well. We can see here the Vietnamese history and culture influenced by France and China. I visited here after Tu Duc and saw the difference from there clearly. It’s so beautiful and it got crowded by people taking pictures.
The stairs to the tomb are steep but you’ll forget it once you see the beautiful inside.
