It did look pretty special compared to the other tombs and the history made it even more interesting! From the architecture to sculpture itself, everything was amazing. Definitely a must to visit in Hue!

The most majestic of all the tombs in the area I visited in my opinion. Spectacular! I rented a scooter and did a day trip of tombs - the other highlight was Tu Duc.

There are 129 steep steps to reach the mausoleum at the top where you will find great views. This tomb shows a great deal of French influence since Khai Dinh worked closely (some say colluded) with the French and toured France a few years before his death explaining the influence in the designs

I had been told in advance that there are seven emperors' tombs in Hue, and if you only see one, make sure it's Khai Dinh. I think that was good advice. Both the exterior and exterior are spectacular, a unique and elaborate design. Hue is an OK city, but the best attractions are seen via a tour. My friend and I booked an all-day tour, which included a dragon boat, the pagoda, the Citadel and Khai Dinh's tomb, plus one other tomb. It was a smart investment. All were terrific.

I like the Architecture. The side walls is very beautiful. The ceiling of the palace is decorated with nine intricate dragons.
