This place is great! The buildings are beautiful but the real treasure comes inside the main building on top. So many details and great stone work. It's worth it!

100,000d entrance fee. This is not very much money. This place is quite big & there are some stairs to negotiate, but not too many. This is the only tomb we saw whilst in Hue. But we both thought that it was really good, and certainly worth seeing.

This guy certainly spared no expense in constructing this complex over 11 years.
Yes, there a steps, nothing unusual in that but not over demanding. Everything is set out on a small site. Nothing less than 30 minutes to walk around for intelligent people with an appreciation of what was created here.
The level of detail on the walls and ceiling is simply beautiful. There is a TV here showing a video about the complex with both Vnese and English subtitles.
Well worth the trip out of town.

We have been here as a first destination of our journey to Hue City. Overall with grand architecture of tomb as other king of Nguyen Dynasty. We have paid 100,000 for 10 minutes of visiting that was over price for historic place in Vietnam. Compare with Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum where would paid for 25,000 Dong.

Situated approx 10km from Hue this is one tomb not to missed,one caution to reach the tomb there are total of approx 130 steep steps not all at once but at different level,as you climb to the first level there are sculptured dragons running the length of the stairs,on the next level there are a number of sculptured figures and horses. On reaching the top just take a look at the surrounding country side before exploring the tomb area. Built between 1920-1931 the tomb area is highly decorative,plenty of colour,check also the decorative ceiling,there are a number of information boards around the site with English translation

Khai Dinh was reputed to be a pawn of the colonial French – and he taxed his people heavily to finance the building of the elaborate edifice.Very nice iron-works art around
the tomb area.
