“The best family vacation rental--cost, location, comfort--it had it all!”
Reviewed 9 October 2010 for a stay in May 2010

From the time we arrived at Gorse Cottage our Doolin vacation was beyond compare. Check in was prompt and informative with the owner's father living up the driveway. He was able to give us information on area sites including walks, caves and entertainment. The town was easily accessed by car--the perfect Irish seaside village. Ferries to the Aran Islands, pubs, music, food and shopping, all within reach. There was much to see in the area and our only disappointment was not having the time to take it all in. We spent 5 wonderful nights at Gorse Cottage--plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 teenagers. The kitchen was modern and large enough for everyone to sit and eat together; washer and dryer, 2 baths and comfortable beds and furniture. We had plenty of privacy but our host was available to assist us with questions...we greatly enjoyed spending a few evenings in the local pub listening to him sing. We could not have picked a better spot for our family vacation. All agreed that Gorse Cottage was truly a high point and was a huge part of what made a great and memorable trip!

“Picture perfect Doolin”
Reviewed 21 September 2010 for a stay in September 2010

My family and my father-in-law travelled from Boston to Ireland on August 27th landing at Shannon airport. We spent our first night in Galway before heading to Gorse cottage and the town of Doolin. From the moment we pulled in the driveway we felt, like we were home. The cottage overlooks the ocean and the Aran islands with cows, horses and donkeys grazing on the fields before you. If you look to your left you have beautiful views of The Cliffs of Moher, while on your right is the majestic Burren. With this glorious location living in a tent might be enough. When you add the 5 spacious bedrooms,2 great full bathrooms,2 sitting rooms and the large kitchen then you have the makings of your best holiday/vacation ever.My daughters [23 and 20] each had their own room,my wifes dad had his own room and my wife and I decided to share a bedroom. Both of my girls are at school now but they have said that our time in Ireland was the best ever and that they miss Gorse/Doolin. As for things to do we took a ferry to the Aran Islands, went horseback riding at Mountainview Horseriding,we traveled to the Cliffs of Moher, went to Bunratty and Ashford castles, took a ferry to the Dingle Pennisula and had quality family time at the 3 world famous pubs, Oconnors,Mcganns and Mcdermotts. We are all planning our next voyage to Gorse cottage. This place is awesome,we absolutely loved it!!!
