The Plas Glyn Y Weddw is a regular day out for us; we generally start with a long walk on the nearby mile-long beach then browse the gallery and reward ourselves with coffee and cake!

It is an art gallery, craft shop and cafe housed in a wonderful old Gothic mansion, run by a charity. The long-established art gallery hosts exhibitions featuring modern works by important Welsh artists (and occasionally some older ones) and is free to view. The exhibitions are well worth seeing as they are exceptionally well curated and changed on a regular basis. The exhibits are usually for sale and we have bought 6 paintings to date, and lusted after the amazing porcelain sculptures that are displayed from time to time!

When you are tired out by admiring the art, the cafe is of an equal quality. In particular we love the generous servings of home-made and delicious cake, washed down with fresh ground coffee. There are also quite a wide range of sandwiches and savoury snacks. Our only slight niggle is that the cafe can get quite busy at lunchtimes during the summer.

For those keen on walking, like us, there are also several walks that radiate outwards from the Plas, one leading to the Iron Man sculpture on the headland overlooking the bay and old quarry workings.

Been to the Plas again earlier this afternoon to experience the best cakes in the UK, by far! The staff were friendly, professional and happy.
The exhibitions in the gallery were both interesting and colourful. We then took a lovely walk up through the woods which really is a must especially if the weather is with you.

A visit to Plas Glyn y Weddw is an absolute must when visiting the Llyn Peninsula, the Gallery, the cream teas and the stroll through the beautiful woods and then down to the beach and walking the circle back to the Plas. Give it a go!

An art gallery... with LOTS of art for sale. Some of it reasonably priced, some of it definitely not!

The cafe is nice - with good, but not cheap, food and there is a car park that is reasonably priced.

We took time in the gallery (over 2 floors), had something to eat and then walked down to Llanbedrog beach. A lovely afternoon.

We spent a rainy couple of hours with two toddlers.
They enjoyed the grounds which are safe to run around in and the ladies in the tea rooms were lovely.,bringing spare cups so they could share hot chocolate.
Delicious home made cakes went down a treat.

Well marked walks from car park. Fantastic views from top of headland. Cafe has selection of naughty cakes and good coffee. Gallery in old hall building is worth a look. Small gift shop with some individual artists items available.
