“Favorite Stay in Ireland”

This was by far my favorite of the four places we stayed while in Ireland! Kathleen met us on our arrival and had a cozy fire going in the fireplace. The cottage was so comfortable and quiet. Walking around downtown and visiting the pubs was a pleasure. Jam Cafe on Henry Street is highly recommended for breakfast or just tea and scones.

My son, daughter-in-law and I really appreciated Kathleen's hospitality.

Thank you so much Kathleen!

This is a very nice place to stay for longer time. The kitchen have everything, also these small stuff like sugar, salt, tee and sometimes like. Kenmare is very lovely village, you can make shopping, sights and of corse go for a Guinness in the evening. The small cafe around the corner is soooooo gorgeous ! Thanks Kathleen for everything.

“Spacious, convenient, and homey with a wonderful owner!”

This accommodation was more than we could have hoped. Kathleen is a delight - knowledgeable about the area and very laid back. The cottage is cute and feels more like you are borrowing an apartment from a friend than renting it from a stranger. It has everything you would need. Kathleen found us when we arrived and had a nice warm fire going for us. It was a lovely home base for our adventures around the Ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsula. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. As long as you get all the switches right, the shower works wonderfully. While the toilets work, the handles may need some getting used to. Overall, this place was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a home-base to explore western Ireland. Thanks, Kathleen - meeting you and your daughter was a delight! All the best in the New Year.

“A storybook stay in Kenmare”

Kathleen had a fire lit when we arrived on a terribly blustery day. A warm welcome indeed. The cottage was equipped with all the necessities needed for our stay. Comfortable bed and living room furniture. The highlight of our days were coming home with some irish cheese, bread and wine, lighting a fire and settling in for the night.
Kenmare is a delightful TidyTown Winner with lots to offer. We drove the Ring Of Kerry and the most dramatic Beara Peninsula . No car days were in order after all that driving which gave us plenty of time to enjoy Kenmare. Went to Jam for our nightly dessert, went to The Atlantic Bar to bore poor Marion with our adventures of the day (God bless her). Even went out for Chinese food at the Phoenix. Thank you Kathleen for sharing your home with us.

“Comfortable and Well-Stocked”

We loved our stay at the Old Dressmaker's Cottage. We have rented many self-catering places in Ireland in the past, and often have to buy small necessities like bathroom tissue, salt and pepper, teabags, etc--but not here. The kitchen was well-stocked and functional. There was plenty of wood for the fireplace--they even delivered more without our requesting it! Everything was clean. And the location can't be beat--a block or so off the main street, with cafes, pubs, and shops of all kinds right at your fingertips. There's even a Chinese restaurant just down the street. I traveled with my husband and a friend, and we were pleased to have an en-suite bathroom as well as a second bath right outside the door of the second bedroom. This is a great find! But do double check if you need Internet access. We didn't have it and had to go to the Cafe Mocha (around the corner) to check emails. This wasn't really a hardship, as the cafe had wonderful sandwiches and sweets.

Thanks for the review. Sorry about the internet but someone must have taken the sim card from the mobile broadband. I never used it myself but people that stayed there said it was good. Regards Kathleen
