A select few will venture out of Milan to sample the skills of Osteria Magenes. Those that do will be very privileged to experience a great country-side Italian restaurant. We know these places as "sleepers" - Quietly achieving great culinary heights by taking traditional dishes and altering just so slightly to make the truly memorable. The famous Risotto Milanese is a real treat - Totally recognisable but just that bit better. The kitchen is not afraid to experiment and we table of seven put the chef to the test ... WOW. If this place doesn't get Michelin recognition soon I will be surprised. Dishes such as "egg that is not an egg", Veal Tartar, were stunning. I recommend you put yourself in their hands and say "Tell me what you think I would like". The wine is in the hands of a true expert ... Ask Diego for his choice... You will not be disappointed.

Combining tradition and innovation is an art that few can claim to be able to practice; a lunch at Magenes is an experience that can bring you to the edge of this gastronomic expression. The exquisite ingredients are matched by a deep research in the past (the place is centennial..) and the will to create something new out of the traditional recipes.
Perfectly managed exercise that let you open new doors and tastes. Top recommended.

This is a restaurant. High level quality, tradition, novelties, tradition with novelties. Every course has a story that waiters and the cooker can tell you kindly and professionally. Menu changes, but risotto, antipasto with gnocco fritto (and pancetta, a real surprise), ossobuco have to be tasted: supreme! But you will want to be back to try other courses, including cappelletti, tagliatelle... Desserts are the most incredible innovations on the base of tradition. Excellent choice of wines. Price: it is high, of course, but not bad in comparison to other high level restaurants. Afterwards, you can walk across the fields and have a little visit to the church beside. A very peaceful Sunday lunch or Friday/Saturday dinner. You will not regret this choice. Rate: 9.5/10

A very quaint restaurant I went to with a group of friends. Good selection of wines, excellent antipasto of meats and breads and the best risotto I've had! No wonder the risotto here is world famous!

nothing to say about the courtesy and competence of the staff. The quality of the food is great but they have to delete the following defects: portions really too little, like a 'Japanese' restaurant, not guessed combinations in desserts, suggestions for the wine list is not very relevant, I mean, to propose a 'dolcetto' wine to almost 15 degrees for the boiled meat is not the best ...Bill is ok (given the quality)...
