Owner description: Mary MacKillop Place, in Mount Street North Sydney, Australia is a place unlike any other. This beautiful tranquil haven is where the tomb of the iconic Australian and first Saint Mary MacKillop is located. It is a historical ‘must see’ destination that gives you an insight into where this extraordinary woman lived and spent the final years of her life. This unique destination incorporates a spiritual site, café/gift shop, museum, beautiful garden and historic Mary MacKillop Memorial Chapel.

I was told about Mary McKillop Place by a couple of friends and was not disappointed. Having booked in to WEA to do an intensive Italian Course I Secure parking was available on the property included in the accommodation, with a 2 minute walk to the train station for a 10 minute trip into the CBD and we were in class on time. 3 types of rooms were available and I chose the room with the ensuite that was well priced and breakfast was included. There is plenty of beautifully well kept gardens with seating, a church, museum and coffee shop located in the grounds. The continental breakfast was very good and the restaurant offered a fantastic dinner menu. The food was delicious that we ate there each night of our stay.

If you're interested in the history of Mary MacKillop then this is the place to go. The gardens are lovely and so quiet considering it is so close to the hustle and bustle of North Sydney. There are not many tourist attractions in North Sydney but this is one of the only ones.

Was not able to find the place that easily from our hotel and had to climb up hill to get there but what a little gem this place is. The church was serene and we prayed near her resting place. The museum was very interesting and showed how brave our saint was. Bought a lot of things from the gift shop/café.

Rooms are nice and it's lovely and quiet. Quite difficult if you're travelling alone in a wheelchair as navigating grounds is hard going to say the least. Not sure anything can be done to address the issue due to layout.
Pleasant and helpful staff.
Excellent for non wheelchair users.

This establishment offers a calm, peaceful environment right in the middle of the North Sydney Central Business District. The location, so close to the train station, is exceptional and the included breakfast is a bonus.

However, refuse to stay in Room 9. It is located directly underneath a bathroom and every trickle of water, including guests relieving themselves, can be heard very distinctly. The window won't open, so the room is stuffy and uncomfortable. The single mattress has been compromised on the left side causing the guest to lie on an angle throughout the night, which certainly interferes with restful sleep.
