“Cosy Devon Retreat”
Reviewed 30 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We have just returned from a short vacation staying in Mwendafye cottage and I cannot recommend the accommodation highly enough. It provided us with a handy base to explore the local area, with Axminster, Honiton and the beaches of Lyme Regis and Seaton within short drives.

I travelled with my girlfriend and young daughter and we were all catered for excellently, even down to the fact that my partner is off dairy due to nursing. All breakfast supplies were provided with this in mind and we were even greeted with some dairy-free cakes to welcome us on arrival.

It really is the little thoughtful touches that have made the stay so pleasant. Provision of breakfast, the cottage itself was immaculate and very well kitted out.

Di is a very welcoming host and made us feel at home during our visit. And on departure we were given some of her duck eggs and dairy-free chocolate - again another lovely touch!

“Excellent accomodation and host”
Reviewed 1 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed in this beautiful cottage for one week. It is by far the best equipped place we have stayed at, everything you could want was provided. Di is welcoming and friendly and makes superb cakes. The cottage is located in a quiet rural setting with many places to visit in East Devon and West Dorset only a short drive away. Highly recommended.

“Wonderful home from home”
Reviewed 10 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Over the years we have rented many holiday cottages but this was the best by a long shot. Di the owner was so wonderful and she had thought of everything from a welcoming plate of freshly home made scones to making sure we had everything you could think of to make our stay fantastic. The cottage is finished to a very high standard and at a very reasonable price. The cottages location was ideally located for exploring the Devon coast line with many locations such as Sidmouth, Beer and Lyme Regis all within 5 miles. We nearly didn't write a comment as we wanted to keep this brilliant cottage all to ourselves but on reflection decided we need to tell everyone how wonderful Di's holiday cottage was

“Cosy Gateway To The Jurassic Coast”

My husband and I stayed in the newly converted , eighteenth century Mwendafye Barn in Dalwood,East Devon for six nights at the beginning of spring 2015.
Providing a snug, relaxing, cottagey environment, it is conveniently situated, for car exploration, of the three nearby counties: Dorset, Devon and Somerset, with the Lyme Regis Jurassic Coast a mere eight miles away.
Attached , at one end, to the part-thatched Grade-two listed Lamb Farm it has its own drive-way entrance with convenient electronic gate access and safe, off road personal car parking space.
It provided us with all the best modcons we could require from a self-catering holiday-let, whilst retaining the eighteenth century barn’s charm and unique architectural features.
It is within easy reach of the historic market town of Honiton for shopping, antique-dealers and all the amenities needed and is also an easy drive from Millers and Felicitys’ Farm Shops for those extra special holiday nibbles and titbits.
All together we would highly recommend this property.
