“Beautiful house”
Reviewed 16 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Our walking group have just returned from a wonderful stay at Castle Cliffe. Had a fab week, accomodation had everything we could need. Barbecued in the garden with plenty of outside tables and chairs, the red arrows even did a fly past!!!! Thankyou Jackie and Neil for the delicious brownies and the flowers were a lovely touch too. Would love to come back.

“The ideal family party venue”
Reviewed 1 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

A beautifully appointed and very spacious house, set in large grounds with a barbecue, and a secret and safe meadow for the children.... also a well appointed snug playroom with television. The rooms are comfy and the beds ideal for partied-out walkers. There are breath taking views from every window of Monsal head (Derbyshire), fields, hills, the viaduct and river against an ever changing sky....the view for the kitchen window even makes washing up a joy. You can see Buzzards, Jackdaws and Swallows above, Dippers in the river, cows and sheep on the hills and it's a short haul to Chatsworth, Haddon and Hardwick Halls, and Buxton and Bakewell. If you get fed up with cooking the pub is a hundred yards from the front door. The Monsal Trail with safe cycling for the children is also just over the road. If all this sounds like a dream it is-our party 2 year old to 70 year old all enjoyed it-what's not to like! Oh, and the owners are nice too.

“Great family venue”
Reviewed 29 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We rented Castle Cliffe for a 60th birthday family party and it was perfect -loads of space to eat together but also to get away from each other. We cycled the Monsal Trail which is very close and also had family games in the field beside the house which the owner had mown for us. The house was spotless and there was absolutely everything we needed and more.

“Beautiful location, beautiful house!”
Reviewed 4 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I stayed with a big group of ladies last weekend for a hen do. We filled the bedrooms but there always seemed to be enough room for us all whenever we were downstairs all together, whether it be dining, barbecuing or just chatting in the lounge.
Plenty of crockery and cutlery, plenty of room to read out or do activities together, lovely garden and the weather was fab and good facilities too. Beds were comfy and bathrooms modern and clean.
We didn't venture out a lot as had lots of things planned inside but the Monsal head pub is across the road, there are walking paths everywhere and bakewell is 10mins drive so plenty to visit too.
Would recommend for a family and friends weekend away too as there's a large field at the back for kids to play and parking for about 12 cars.
All in all a fab time had by all!

Stayed at Castle Cliffe House for a hen weekend with 20 others, the house was very large & plenty of outside space with BBQ area and plenty of seating. The bedroom I stayed in was very comfortable and large enough to not be too cramped with sharing with 3 others, bed very comfortable. The area where the house is based is very beautiful with plenty of greenery & walks a plenty. I would definitely recommend this house & would love to return.
